MemberGreat Report Guys!

MemberHere are a few more pictures from some of the guys on our trip, their’s are “slightly” bigger than mine. They were fortunate to hit the Middle on a few good days with a local guide (name escapes me). We all hit the middle Kenai some but it was off so they just got lucky and from the size of these beast, I wish I would have stayed a few extra days when the Monster Bows came out to play.
I was fortunate to have a friend who lives there and as much time as he spends on the Kenai, he could guide for sure but enjoys taking buds out for a good time. What a time it was and each time I make it out to AK the Kenai rarely disappoints.

Sorry I couldn’t resist

MemberGlad to hear the Pan treated you well, it never disappoints! Can’t wait to get down there the 1st of October

MemberNot sure if this helps but I had drinks with Tom Lewin from Frontier Fly Fishing out of South Africa last week and he raved about their tigerfish down there, big nasty toothy critters. His office is out of Johannesburg and I’m sure he could help you out or point you in the right direction? I would love to get down there one of these days and from the sound of it, the Pirates are out in full force so beware if headed for some Salt.

MemberThe Toilet bowl is okay just to say you did it but when there’s about 8 people in the hole “or waiting their turn” starting at 6am till dark, it’s a bit crowded with too many bait chuckers snagging. It use to be okay for pigs any maybe still is, but the last time we were there it’s far from 40 fish, lot’s of small ones and an occasional pig but not like the good ol’ days (I fish the river about 6 trips a year). Great river and plenty of good water even the braids just below the Bowl has big fish spread out and a bit less congestion.

Walking back from the Bowl after a weekday thunderstorm years ago, no crowds that afternoon thankfullyGood luck if you decide to fish the TB or if you’re game fish the Upper Pan at night and see who shows up, that’s my favorite 😉

MemberThere are some pretty interesting lanyards out there right now. I just buy a few for stillwater and rivers and change them up a bit. No more vest for this guy!

MemberI love Trout lake and the entire region still haunts me from a crazy bear encounter years ago when I lived there. Gorgeous country and can’t wait to get back there again next Summer!

MemberDrakes are going off right now as well as…yep the Shrimpy’s! PT’s the norm as well as small midges, take your pick. Check in with Dragonfly Outfitters as well and look out for some Kok’s swimming up around that time as well possibly. Good luck and bring back some pics for us
