The Itinerant AnglerI will be blogging from the floor of the Fly Fishing Retailer Show starting tomorrow morning, over on MidCurrent.com. Unlike in past years when I had to watch what I said on the net from the show, because we were trying to preserve material for a print article, now I have carte blanche to blog about whatever catches my fancy. Ultimately we will assemble a complete review of the entirety of the show in the annual “Four Feet of Anything” article that Marshall has been writing every year for the last few years. But, if anyone has any special curiosities that they would like me to go check out, let me know and I will try to throw a blog post up about them.
Since MidCurrent does not have a forum, I’ll rely on you guys here to discuss whatever seems interesting, and I’ll be checking in to see if a particular product creates questions you want answered. Just post them in this thread, and I’ll try to find out for you (if it is in my power).

MemberThree TFO related requests….
Bob Clouser’s new rod, the baby mini mag (6/8 wt), and the bug launchers for kids.
If you wouldn’t mind seeing what’s up with those products, I’d be grateful.

Steve K.MemberZach,
Please keep an eye out for the waterproof backpacks that never materialized….specifically the William Joe offering. I’ve been waiting on that thing for over a year now. Seems Orvis had something similar due out but I might be wrong.
Have fun.

MemberI would like to hear if any rod makers are starting to make a rod for smallmouth, from the ground up.

Member….specifically the William Joe offering.
If you’re going to get informal with the company’s name, shouldn’t it really be “Billy Joe”? ;D

MemberNow, I am not a huge TFO fan, but ask when the heck they will step into the 21st century and have a decent working website that is web 2.0.
I would love to attend next years show, I might have to figure out a way to do that.

Cameron MortensonMemberNot intending to hijack Zach’s thread here…but keep an eye on The Fiberglass Manifesto site this month since it will end up having at least five Tenkara related posts.

Memberhog island boatworks was supposedly working on a poly-style row-able jet sled hybrid.
on the Tenkara note, NGTO had ripped it up pretty good and (accurately) comparing it to trout fishing with a crappie pole like this one below:

it does look like a lot of fun though!Sep 10, 2009 at 2:46 pm #38898cole m.
