Hey Corey thanks and it looks like you had a great time out that way as well! Neal glad you liked that shot. It’s a tradition of mine everytime I fish there I catch a number of fish at dark (if not in the dark) so I always luck out with a few nice ones and always have to capture that moment if possible.

Thanks and can’t wait to try and get back up again there this Fall. Too many good areas to fish with too little time as they say in these parts!

Sounds like a fun trip planned. I always have friends come out in Sept to RMNP, it’s the best time. Perfect weather and even snow any given day.

Standard Big T can be good if flows aren’t bumped up too high like they normally do. Sprague lake will have Brookies by the masses so you can catch a ton or just watch some gorgeous colored fish swim by. Don’t forget Lily Lake also for some nice scenery and good fishing for Greenbacks.

The Madison should be primed as well as the Firehole. Early Nov can have some big browns move up so good luck chasing a few. May try and get back late Oct myself again

That was Hilarious! Tom is a Pal of mine and one lucky SOB who get’s to travel the globe! He sent this to me recently and it still cracks me up everytime I see it.

    Between this and landing 15lb trout on a 3wt’s, I would say he’s a pretty good fisherman…

The Pan is an incredible fishery, both amazed at how many rises can occur in a day as well as how many Simms wader hatches can also show up.

May is one of my favorite months there to fish, nonstop bug activity from 10am-3pm. My suggestion is, since that is a very popular month to fish there, find a spot, stay put and enjoy hatches all day or bounce around and find a few small spots to fish in between people, that’s the game. If you do the Toilet Bowl, go at 5-6am or right at dark. Last May we went to the big bend right below the Bowl and 3 cars were there already at 6:30….Crazy!

That or fish the Roaring fork, few crowds, lot’s of fish, though smaller and it can be fun!

Grass carp are fun to catch but very tough to get to bite. The grass fly works great but normally they’re keyed in on certain times of the day or the week for landscapers cutting around the edges of lakes. Here in Colorado we have the Cottonwood drop, the cottonwood seed hatch around late spring that provides incredible dry fly action. A 30-40lb carp on a fly rod is a fight to remember!

No problem with a flight I had not long ago to Tampa as well. I normally like to keep my flies in my check in back, always a chance on them keeping or them turning my boxes away.

Glad it’s not like Chile a year or two ago. They banned feathers being flown in, many friends got there with a few hundred of their fav flies only to have them confiscated and had to spend mucho on new ones.

For me I keep it simple, carry on 1 or two rods (rest of my 4 pieces

Nice going and shorts weather also…man I’m jealous! Stuck in some snow here lately but did sightfish for a few Carp on Friday around town. They tend to slowdown a bunch here on feeding and the fight also becomes so-so. Keep the pictures coming since our season is slowing down here in Denver

Nice report and I love seeing Mt Baldy again! I lived in that area (Grand Lake) about 12 years ago and fished that area a ton. Love to get back from time to time. Love the weather here, 70′ one minute, snowing 5 inches the next!
