MemberI’m thinking about setting a trap line this year. Haven’t done so in 5 seasons.
When you can see up to 31 deer in your front yard (river bottom) you loose interest real quick, last deer I shot was out the kitchen door 😀

Memberyes they are, and with the low humidity of the Rocky Mnt west, I don’t sweat like I do here in TN at 700′ elevation, could cut the air today with a knife.

Membermy FFF club had a member to pass away, his widow had a couple of members to get his goods together and sell them at silent auction, it got me to thinking about my stuff.
I am orginized but am real organized now. I got all my stuff together and put it in bags.
I have my materials on a Word document. I been tying 25 years and am a materials junkie, It’s 25+ pages long. ;D

MemberI was in Little River Outfitters Monday, I had it on my to do list to ask questions about the Simms boots compared to the Chota SLT+. But we got off on other subjects and it slipped my mind. Why the Rivershed over the Guide? I want the best foot bed I can get and they will be used for standing in the boat chunking streamers and wading on the tailwaters. Felt will be reserved for the Smokies until the new soles prove themselves. I had 3 pair of Simms Guide model, say 3 or so years ago, first two pair broke across the ball of both feet after little usage. They were killing my feet after little time in the boots per day. I sold the 3rd paid and got the Chota’s, the Chota wading boot and Keen H2O sandals are the only shoes I can wear without my custom orto’s. I have Plantar fasciitis.

Leave RonS in charge, Tom and I will be out during this time frame to visit Deerlodge 😉
Tim,
Tom and I will be on the Slough around 24-26th time frame, but won’t be staying due to my sleep apnea, but would love to do it.

MemberTim,
I’m 10′ tall and bullet proof, but spending time in the Slough Creek area alone is not on my agenda, I realize I think different at 51 than I did 20+ years ago.
I’m not sure the park service will let you go it alone, some areas of the Gallatin water shed, have to have 3 people to go.
I’m sure someone will chime in.

MemberDavid,
I like the looks of those hoppers man! Â Pretty cool with the legs. Â I like your different colors too. Â
Juan
Thanks for the compliment, you are the hopper guru.

MemberDD-It’s not hopper season here yet by any means, however:
Photo number -1 Tie that top foam color with the bottom color of photo number 5. I think that would nail the green creek side hoppers.
Thanks for allowing me to be your field tester!!  🙂
I know how much you enjoy tying but if you need a shortcut fly for the higher elevation creeks around here-Chernobyls-Orange bottom black top, and a tan/tan combination will do it. Again, not much luck on the yellows.
I really like the shape of those Chernobyls you sent last time.
What size would you like  😀
As always, tie up lots of flies for my big trips and end up fishing only a few ;D But I will have plenty of the yellow and brown in the bottom photo, ran out of yellow two years ago and boy did it hurt.
