Mark SchaferMemberI have seen some customers with pretty sophisticated spread sheets but have never heard of anything directed at fly tying. one guy that I remember listed the flies he tied when you clicked on the cell the materials where listed, and his materials work sheet gave alternate materials when you clicked on the cell.

Membermy FFF club had a member to pass away, his widow had a couple of members to get his goods together and sell them at silent auction, it got me to thinking about my stuff.
I am orginized but am real organized now. I got all my stuff together and put it in bags.
I have my materials on a Word document. I been tying 25 years and am a materials junkie, It’s 25+ pages long. ;D

You can judge a man by the size of things which annoy him.

The Itinerant AnglerI use a physical filing cabinet, and can’t imagine having enough tying stuff to need a computer program to track it.

MemberI use a physical filing cabinet, and can’t imagine having enough tying stuff to need a computer program to track it. That said, you could probably download a Wikimedia free package and put it on a local computer set up to run an internal website (Macs and PCs can both do this; for PCs you just have to run a program called Apache first to give it a web kernel to run in). Then you could build your own cross-linked Wiki of your stuff, organized by keywords. I think it’d be more elegant than a spreadsheet and it could grow organically over time.

😕 If only I had a filing cabinet full… Maybe I’ll down size one day :-/

MemberThe real problem for me is keeping track of “how much” individual stock I have.
