Hi all.  First, let me apologize if this topic is threaded somewhere else, I tried to search these boards before posting…

Does anyone have any input on the latest round of waterproof digital point-and-shoots?  I have the good ol’ DSLR for my non-water destroying trips.  I also love my new Lumix LX3 point-and-shoot, but am annoyed with the waterproof boat bag /zip loc system I rigged up.  I see a lot of waterproof cameras in the $150 – $300 range and wondered if anyone had any luck worth sharing?  Obviously, the quality becomes a factor, but with my wobbly legs and risky wading maneuvers, I’m willing to make some trade-offs if worth it.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Olympus is what I carry, but the new Cannon looks like it is the bomb…

There are many web articles doing comparisons between multiple devices.

After 2 years of use I noticed my Olympus 1030sw was leaking some air bubbles out of a screw on top when I took some underwater photos in Idaho last month.

    i have the olympus.

no major complaints except for the lack of video quality (outside mostly, works well inside) and the start up which makes it not great for candid shots when you want to capture something at a bar or party before the shenanigans end.

i got it for a great price on ebay. i think that is the best part of it.
the screen has a lot of scratches now, you’d think a camera made to take a beating would have a tougher screen.

you can take a loot at some of my pics and vids on my website

These days you can use a waterproof pouch to use your camera underwater.

I just bought a fuji finepix z33wp from wall mart yesterday, $169.00. The reviews seem like they will suit me for a basic wp digital camera. I have to test it out yet.
