I had a Boykin named Pete who was a great hunter/retriever and an even better fishing dog.
I like to stick with one syllable.
David, where did your Boykins come from? I had looked for some time to find another but could never find a litter with both parents having certified hips/eyes. I have settlled on an English Cocker pup which I hope to pick up in a couple of months.
I had a grandson of Elhew Snakefoot, named him Parker after the shotgun I was toting at the time. He’s gone now, but that dog was smarter than most people I’ve ever ran across.
Had 3 Boykins, Zack, Sid and now Max.
find something you like and rolls off the tongue if you plan to hunt/train the pup. My 2 cents worth.
Wife and I went to the showing in Nashville, was plenty of brew flowing around the venue, plus a quality microbrewery just a couple hundred feet away.
We enjoyed it, didn’t go with any expectations, just a night out on a “date”.
Metalhead was my favorite.
I have the waist high Headwaters, use them for fishing out of a boat and lived in the for 11 days this past August, Wyoming & Montana, even hiked into the 2nd Meadow of Slough Creek with them on. No problems, would buy again.
I have the G4 with the zipper, they breath a little better but not a few hundred dollars better.

another vote for the Nautilus, sold all my Ross and now have all Nautilus in the quiver. CCF 8 is great, my fishing bud has a few NV’s and we have numerous FW’s, 3, 5 and 7+’s
I’ve had Ross Big Game, Lamson Litespeeds, no problems.

I don’t feel bad if I go in a shop, they don’t have what I am looking for and order it online, but I ask for this stuff, many times over. The owner is a great guy, we go back near 25 years, but it is Spey times in Tennessee 😉 (generation) and cold weather is upon us. I could lived without the hat, have been wearing a Columbia Yazoo hat for 20+ years, but wanted a hat to keep in the dry bag, clean and ready at a moments notice.

(stocks the brand) The other item I was looking for was a Simms ExStream hat. Shop carries a large and varied inventory, a great shop and I’ve been in more than I care to own up to in my travels. Rick, you have a 3.5 (VQ) engine, newer motors are 4.0 (ZV-7) runs like an 8 cyl.
Both are great engines.
If anyone is interested, we strive for “0” tolerances, and dang near get them. I’m talking Zero Microns, and there are 25,400 microns to an inch.
When I went to work at Nissan, I was amazed that if the line is down for a shift, the unfinished motors are covered with plastic to keep “dust” out and this is in a plant the you can literally eat off
yes, and been in the shop a few times since, always ask, always get the same answer, it should already been here. Can get on ebay and have it overnight if I want to pay the postage.
