In the digital age we live in, do people still rely on light meters the way they once did, or do they rely on the DSLR for the correct info.?

Thanks, and I like Aaron’s addition as well. It does focus on the subject more effectively. How do you/you all feel about the post prod.? I know it looks underexposed, but I was thinking the lack of vibrant color added some aspect to this image. I do not yet know the nomenclature, but when I desaturated this image, I simply liked it. The image fit very well with my memories of the day and what happened that day. I suppose this is why we need non-emotionally involved criticism.

I shot the image in RAW, big file, open to many possibilities from one more well versed in post production than me. I have been playing with it for days now, and have a dozen or so different versions. You can have it, or at least a burned disc with some untouched “Gus” shots.

This thread took a turn for the furled, and I will try these based on all of y’alls obvious affection for them, but I guess I was not specific enough in my original request: does anyone have any specs on tying mono to mono or fluoro to fluoro simply using blood knots? You know…18 inches of 30lb., 18 inches of 20lb., etc.

If you put Rain-X on the outside of the housing, would it create a film and thereby ruin future images? If not, the Rain-X might a help a little by making the water sheet off vs. sticking in droplets.

Sorry Scott, I just realized you were not referring to the LCD. Could you fashion a hood out of a piece of 3/4″ or 1″PVC, cut at an angle and fit over the lens? It might look a bit ghetto, but keep the lens dry.

Last weekend, I was stalking carp, and a snake came slithering by less than a foot from my legs. I froze, but freaked internally. As I looked at it, I knew it was not a Cotton Mouth, but still, the feeling of fear gripped me. After some colorful words, my buddy behind me assured me that the snake was not harmful.

I am afraid my palate is not that advanced. I have never had truffles or caviar, unless some roe from a freshly caught Chinook hen counts. I did not care for it; that was one of those things one does just to say that they have I suppose. Should I find myself in your part of the country, maybe we can go on a mushroom hunt.

That is awesome Scott. I am surprised at the relaxed atmosphere on the boat, but I guess it does not help anything to get a client all hopped up, especially before the fish is brought to hand. Great work, I am sure he will not soon forget that day!
