Thanks Drifter, but are the above flies not intended for the long-nosed gar, meant to get wrapped up in all of the teeth? I will have to do some research, but I am pretty sure that the gar locally aren’t long-nosed. Would this matter?

I completely agree with Eric. Given the modest price difference and the limitations of Elements, L2 would be your best bet. Plus, you have plenty of growing room w/ L2, and having L2 might even inspire you more. And, as Eric mentioned, it will double as a handy organizational tool for your images.D.
Oh man…I would have a hard time leaving that one alone, especially since you know they get no pressure. But I would also imagine that the fine for getting caught is a sufficient deterrent.

Am I the only one that thinks the whole thing looks a little blurry? Â The previous issues looked the same.

I love me some Buffalo! Great pullin’ fish, no doubt. We have them thick in a tailwater or two around here. The TX variety love to hit some flashy Foxy Clousers. What are you guys using for them?
D.I don’t think I can take advantage of the 64 bit because my OS is Windows XP and my computer only has 4G of RAM, so what does that mean to me if I were to get CS5?

Thanks for the input Drifter. I need to read again and go through these pages. I did get some stuff for rigging, and I hope to do that to the boat this week. And I want to try one of the high-grad paddles, but I noticed yesterday that for the price I could mount a Minn-Kota troller. My boat is filling quickly!

Thanks guys. And Zach, my next question was going to head in the same direction as yours. I have considered a push-pole myself, but first I have to find my stability. I am told I should be able to stand in the Native, though the water is still a bit chill here, and I have yet to find the courage to try this feature.

I would be very interested to hear about your findings from the upcoming trip. Thank you.Smelt dinner? I cannot believe you guys eat that and claim to enjoy it. As I have spent little time with Rick, I do not claim to know his culinary preferences. However, located as he is, geographically, I assure you he is not dining on smelt. Calf fries, or Rocky Mt. Oysters, might be more appropriate.

I just realized we were not referring to the same Rick…mon mauvais!
D.I was on the PM on Oct. 16th of last year. We got into them, but they were already spawned out and looking rather spent. From what we were told, I got there two weeks too late for the salmon and two weeks too early for the steelies.
D.Spawned out isn’t the word for them, more like the swimming dead.
No argument here. I have never seen so many dead fishies.
