MemberWray,
Awesome pics. You need to post a pic of your clear cure goo scud.

MemberI like the patagonia stickers with the trout and striped bass. Picked them up at the somerset show for free

MemberI wear the Kokatat paddle jacket as my wading jacket. 100% better than any ‘wading jacket’ sold by any fishing company that I have purchased.
The color is mango. Zach, I’ll take the pants if you still have them and can make some sort of costume. 🙂

MemberLooking forward to this one. Our local carp keep eluding me. Hope to learn some more about how to finally get one on a fly.

MemberNot a fan so much of the morrell but love me some of their cup fungi cousins the truffle. For the foodies out there, get some truffle salt and toss that on some Whole Foods brand tater tots. :heaven
My father in law forages for fungi outside Breck and pickles them.
As I have warned him, be careful when collecting wild fungi (not so much as they could be the wrong one) but because people guard their foraging grounds.Rob Snowhite
MemberLast time golf was talked about so much in the fly fishing community was during some match where trout were rising in one of the course ponds.
Maybe I should start watching golf.

MemberTidal Basin in D.C.
She was holding a sunfish she had just caught and these people in blue body paint were walking by. They all posed for a photo with the fish but it didn’t’ come out like this one.Rob Snowhite
MemberI have had my eye on the Orvis sling pack for a while. Still debating if it will carry what I need. As some of the guys on the Potomac swear by it and highly recommend it for its functionality and ergonomics. It does sound like a good alternative to a vest x chest pack x fanny pack.

MemberI use Paypal and Google Checkout a lot. Google Checkout is used by those with out a Paypal account.
My bank stated they could set me up with a card reader (old fashioned paper with carbon copy kind) if I wanted. For now, I’m sticking with electronic payment methods.

MemberRoll cast. Line doesn’t go through your guides since you are not stripping in all the time, thus no water –> ice build up.

MemberMost of my Scandi fishing connections are in Sweden and Norway. I can help you out mostly if going to Sweden. Probably the best I could do would be to get you an e-mail contact for a friend’s brother who lives and fishes a lot in Sweden. As for Denmark, not so much.
However, per Denmark, there should still be some xmas beers left over and I would highly recommend finding some of this:

MemberAlmost exclusively.
My 6wt Orvis salt water rod is my go to rod out west, on the Potomac, eastern spring creeks, and local lakes. We also take out the 8wt a lot. We’ll be throwing the 8wt rods with sinking lines this weekend on the Potomac. Cold water = fish are down deep this time of year.
The larger guides don’t freeze up as fast in winter, and the full grip is more comfortable for throwing all day and for big flies on heavy lines.

MemberI too appreciated the article. I own the same model of Aluminum boat pictured going down the rapids. The comparison from different makes and models and material allowed me to confirm I made the right choice for boats.
If anyone is interested, there are 3-4 more models of the Alumaweld boats for sale (“used”, they have never been put in the water) with trailer. I can get you in touch with the seller. In D.C.

MemberIf you can’t get a real one, you can always make a fake one to use.

MemberThis is my go-to meal when I don’t have a kitchen. Camping or fishing. Its good.

MemberFished my pattern in the tidal basin in dc today. The plan was for some big bass and a snakehead. I had one small largemouth nip at the fly and a few tugs from something just as small that I could not see through the off color water. I was hoping to get something nice on this beautiful fall day but no luck.

MemberI have taken dr jones out a few times. He usually just barks at me if I tie him to a tree or picnic table. I took him to Pulaski once and he stayed in the schoolhouse inn in Altmar. They let him in the bar in town too.
He has put his schnauzer toes in the water on the local hook n cook creek but won’t go in. Never tried him in the canoe.
Just got a drift boat (BOOOOOYA!) and put him in it while it was parked on the side of the road. He seemed to be ok with it. He blends in with the paint and is hard to see. I’m hoping to take him out for stripas once the rain stops.
I think dr jones would rather be at home on a leather sofa and watch the golfers outside than be outside.
dr jones out on the ice dunes of lake ontario

upset at me for dropping him in a snow bank
