IMHO, you first need to decide what type of story YOU wish to write. Will this be a historical narrative w/ bits of entomology, or will this piece you plan to write be a scientific entry, containing bits and pieces of the man you referred to?Also, consider your audience. For whom will you be writing this story: flyfishermen, other bug-nuts, etc.
What is your ultimate goal with this piece: publication, informative essay, etc.?
I realize the frustration in answering your query with more questions, and I do apologize, but I think that these key ingredients will aid you in coming to the final piece.

Not that I have ever been there, but I would be tempted to take the rattiest pair of waders and, of course, non-felt boots I could find. I would be ultra-pissed to get to the airport, here or there, and find out my gear had been quarantined.

No good spot to clip your net.John,
Not to argue, but my Waterdance has a D loop, attached to an auxiliary strap one can place on the pack, which goes over one’s neck. Plus, said strap is padded. It is quite comfy. Admittedly, I do not carry a net, though I have found myself desiring one numerous times, but there is, certainly, an efficient way to house a net on this pack.D.
I have a sigma 28-200mm and a vivitar 2x I no longer use. If interested, shoot me a pm. I bought them both several years ago, when I was into film, for my Canon Rebel. If this works for you, let me know, and I could save you some change.

I have the Fishpond Waterdance, and I could not be happier with it. I wish I had bought it before I bought the other three Fishpond packs I have had. It has just the right amount of room for gear and is comfortable as well. It’s the best pack I have ever had.
DustyI agree with you both! I tried tying some of the Charlie Boys, but mine did not come out like in Fly Tyer magazine. This one does look more simple to tie.
Can we expect a tutorial for this new bug?

D.I just bought a 430 EXII Speedlite for EOS 450 (XSi). I had been debating between this one and one that Chad Simcox suggested to me on another thread: Pentax 285HV, I think. But I decided on the 430 b/c the other was full manual, plus, the 430 could rotate and after I get more flashes will act as a slave to the 580EX. But the 430 runs $270 while the other is around $90.
D.The ones we get here are a bit – ummmm – feminine compared to a proper American one – hell, there’s hardly even room for a gun rack or confederate flag ! ;D
I currently run a Jeep Cherokee, and my next vehicle will be a jeep as well, as the one before my last was a jeep. I looked for a pic for you David, but evidently English Ale prohibits such functions.

FYI-The Confederate Flag, sadly,has become taboo. I graduated HS in ’95, and our mascot, “Johnny Rebel,” was subsequently banned. Students w/ Confederate Flags hanging in their cars were asked to remove the flags or risk the car being towed. And this was 13 years ago. The idea and image of the Confederate Flag has diminished, sad to say.

I am looking forward to hitting my local bass haunt next weekend. Pretty lucky to get access on to a farm where the owner will let me turkey hunt the am, fish the day, and then hunt again till dark. All in a day. Hopefully will make for a good spring.
