David AndersonMemberHi Guys,
Feeling a bit homesick again.. :'(
(and it’s very quiet on the work front ;))How about posting some shots of your trucks ?
The ones we get here are a bit – ummmm – feminine compared to a proper American one – hell, there’s hardly even room for a gun rack or confederate flag !

I currently run a Jeep Cherokee, and my next vehicle will be a jeep as well, as the one before my last was a jeep. I looked for a pic for you David, but evidently English Ale prohibits such functions.
But tomorrow I am putting in an order to B&H, and when the gear arrives, I will not be so ashamed to show you some pics, provided I learn how to use said eqmpt.
FYI-The Confederate Flag, sadly, has become taboo. I graduated HS in ’95, and our mascot, “Johnny Rebel,” was subsequently banned. Students w/ Confederate Flags hanging in their cars were asked to remove the flags or risk the car being towed. And this was 13 years ago. The idea and image of the Confederate Flag has diminished, sad to say.

clark reidMemberI’m in NZ and I run a Jeep Grand Cherokee too… albeit a ’97
and as for the Confederate Flag….

Roy ConleyMemberYep, Abe, one of the biggest problems I have with the “Rice Rockets” is that they do not carry/tow much.

For the record, a new Chev 4×4 converted from left to right hand drive is over $110,000 (about 65K US?). 😮
I don’t think they price them here converted for the wrong side of the road ;), but $65k is sure steep compared to what you would pay here. You probably know, but MSRP on most Chevy 4×4 3500s in the US is closer to $30k. www.edmunds.com. You can get in the $40s with all options. $20s for more spartan models. On top of that, with the economy in shambles, the dealers are giving very good pricing, too.
My SUV is a ’02 Durango. Not much to put in a photo but it keeps the sport and utility in SUV. I switched to a coupe for my daily driver so I can keep the truck reliable for at least another decade.
Nice Corvette above and David, I liked your website.

Ben CochranMemberWell, sadly my Durango passed away. Family member rolled it and I found it laying on its side, tires sticking straight out like a dead Dingo. Didn’t know if I should rub its belly or shoot it and put it out of its misery… Nonetheless, family member is ok and that Durango is now in SUV heaven, chasing little VW’s… :-/

David AndersonMemberI REALLY like the look of the Dodge Ram dueal cab 2500’s in diesel…
Just as soon as one of you guys finds me a high paid (low work) job back in the US I’m going to move back and get one.

Joel ThompsonMemberNot a great shot of the crew cab Ford F250 with the Powerstroke Diesel engine but a great shot of what she can do! Hopefully it is enough to help with the big truck blues David!

Here is a picture of Sasquatch in his native western habitat. A workhorse of a truck with 105,000 miles on it and still going strong. It has towed and traveled around the west, while serving as my shelter too.
Joel,
Your picture reminds me of a time we stingered two boats into a really sketchy primitive put in on the North Platte in WY. You basically backed the boat up to the edge of the river and pushed in off the trailer. The river was running about 1,200 CFS at the time. Very spicy. I love the stinger rigs, endless shuttling options.
Cheers,
Jay

Steve K.MemberMost of you have seen my Trout Truck. It’s the Toyota Tacoma 4 liter V-6 which is a happy medium between towing power and gas mileage. It pulls the driftboat with no problem and still gets 20 mpg.

MemberSo…just a question on the stinger rigs.
How in the hell do you maneuver with something like that?

MemberGMC Yukon for me. I got hit head on by a drunk in a Dodge Durango before I got it and I will not loose that battle again. Going on 6 years w/o a problem (KOW). AWD, stab control, side air bags, 18mpg highway, towing package, and every thing is locked up tight and dry inside. All for $30,000 new. Dog loves it on hunting trips too. And it helps keep America, American. I just love it.
