http://instagram.com/chad_simcox InstagramDavid, the time’s I’ve been there were for BMX races in a (somewhat) nearby town called Farmer City. The Winter Classic it was called. It was held in a small metal sided building. It was so tight in there, they had to build a bridge for the track to loop over itself. There was no heating in the building! Man it got cold there.
I have a friend here in L.A. who grew up in Champaign as well. He’s talking about moving back to Chi after getting laid off recently.

http://instagram.com/chad_simcox InstagramDoes shooting with Holga cameras count? Sure they’re plastic, but they are range finders. I go through phases of shooting with them. I’d do it a lot more if I had a film scanner.

http://instagram.com/chad_simcox InstagramI miss the time in the dark room, but I don’t miss the costs! Blowing through film and paper gets expensive. But nothing beats a beautiful silver print with a range of shades and tones that give the image a 3 dimensional look. You know the ones, where you feel like you could reach into the paper and touch what you see.
I’ve been shooting film here and there on my holga 120 and 135. But not much black and white. The only reason i don’t is because of darkroom access/time. True we’ve got that lake known as the Pacific Ocean, tons of reservoirs and a handfull of trout streams nearby. Not to mention great steelhead and striper fishing up north, plus tons of back country lakes and streams in the sierras. But it’s not really a fly fishing city.
I loved living in Denver. Great fishing nearby with all the benefits of living in a descent/medium sized city. Plenty of good live music, good art scene, good nightlife, more breweries per capita than any other state, good skiing/snowboarding/mountain biking/hiking/camping/climbing/jeeping/kayaking/hunting/cycling/mountainering/paragliding/golfing/rafting/water skiing/photography/etc. opportunities. Good airport with access to every major US city. Ever professional sports team other than WNBA. Great food. Good weather, over 300 days of sunshine a year. Oh and lots of good people.

Wow, of all places to go, you make a trip to Champaign Illinois? I’ve only been there in the winter time and only remember flat ground, open fields, wind and snow for as far as the eye could see.

I went on a trip last weekend and only brought my holga 135 BC loaded with 400 ASA B&W film. Of course is was nothing but blue bird skies with temps in the high 80s. BW wasn’t the best choice but I wanted to focus on fishing, not shooting, and thats what I had loaded in both my holgas.
For my conditions, color would have been the best choice, but for you, it sounds like BW is the way to go. Give it a shot, shoot raw and have the option for both.http://society6.com/grainfarmer Fly Fishing and Landscape open edition Photography prints.

For the Typhoon, have the logo/text in a position that is readable. Right now it’s upside down and their logo doesn’t match how it is normally presented.

Corey, good idea on the demo reel. That is something I’ll probably do once I update my reel. I have a lot of new stuff to add from this year.Nomad, I’m not sure what’s causing that black line. It isn’t a border. I don’t think it’s a big enough problem for me to spend too much time searching out a fix, so if I can’t easily fix it, the problem will stay.
As far as a custom scroll bar, I’ll see what I can come up with, but again, I do not see it as being a major issue to focus much time on.Kendal, thanks for letting me know that the first page confused you. I’ll run it by some others and if I get that feedback again I’ll address that.
