MemberI’ll second Zach’s thanks to those of you who made it. It was great to meet and fish with you!
I know that Neal has some more shots to share, too.

MemberSounds like a great trip. Enjoyed the photo journal summarizing the occasion. The sunrise from Clingman’s Dome was gorgeous – stunning blue and orange hues. I wished I could have joined you, though all is not lost… I get to fish a small Kentucky creek tomorrow morning… 🙂 This flatlander from Kansas is excited…

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

MemberWill and Brian- One word: bleach. 🙂
Though Tide has no hand in the funding of my education, Emory’s nickname is Coca-Cola University. 😉
And, yes, those are the Cloudveil pants, and they held up very well through some serious trailblazing and hiking.

MemberThanks again to everyone who came to the Smokies. It was certainly chilly and the fishing was slow but a good “first annual” IA conclave. This trip was all about Bob Riggins – what a recovery he has made from the hospital this February to combat fishing in the Smokies the same year. Also, he custom built a rod for the trip! Hats off everyone!!!
Way to go Bob!

Bob brought some gear porn along for the trip 😮

I had the honor of largest fish caught – a respectable wild trout ;D

Some shots of Deep Creek

We managed to get up early this morning in time to catch the sunrise at Clingman’s Dome. That was breathtaking!

Obligatory IA food shots (Bar-B-Que)

I am looking forward to the next IA-Clave!

MemberHey fellas, sorry I was sort of a no show. I say “sort of” because I was there, I just couldn’t manage to run into anyone, which is a testament to the amount of water there in that little tiny place.
I fished all day Friday up stream of the Bum-g Bend area. Found some nice rainbows and browns, but like you all know, nice for the smokies is small everywhere else 🙂 But Neal, that is NICE rainbow in your pic…
Then Saturday I didn’t hike in quite as far so I think we just missed each other. I stopped by the campsite on Saturday morning but I think you all were already gone. I’m bummed I missed out on meeting up. However my family had fun and we are planning on going back next year for sure, so hopefully we will be able meet up then.
I did see Zach standing on that rock fishing Friday evening. I was headed back to the car and my legs were toast, when I looked down from the trail saw a guy up on that rock, and a girl a sitting on a rock a little down stream. I thought about yelling down to see if that was y’all but then my dork alarm went off and I decided against it, because there was no way for me to get down there.
The BHPT was the ticket as far what I could tell, I’m all out those now, time to tie some more. Although I got some good action on small yellow mayflies as well as a small CDC one feather emerger during midge activity.

MemberWow, great pictures guys. I had a blast this weekend. It was good to meet and fish with those of you that I had never met before. I only took one picture, as my photography skills tend to be sub-optimal at best and I was pretty much surrounded by incredible photographers. This was one of Zach’s fish. Probably the largest Brook trout that was caught this weekend.
