MemberI just paid $ 2.65 a gallon here in Arkansas. I don’t know about you guys but that bodes well for not wincing at the thought of driving 2.5 hours each way to go trout fishing on the Little Red river or anywhere else here for that matter. If they would just stop generating water so much here the great fall fishing can begin. I love fall trout fishing it’s magical. In between hurricanes they shut down the genrators for a couple of days so not to further flooding down stream and I had a great day swinging soft hackles and finished the day with about 2.5 hours of dry fly fishing and brought many of these little beauties to hand. Hope your all getting out there and good luck!

The Itinerant AnglerIf I had told you in 2000 that within a decade, you’d have been celebrating the return to $2.65 a gallon, what do you think your reaction would have been.

MemberZach, my reaction would have been WHAT THE _____ ! But trying to justify a long drive to the fishing hole was getting harder to sell if you know what I mean. I even get low to mid 30’s mpg if I drive like a grandpa on a sunday. I hope it continues down. It should help get people out more and stimulate this mess called an economy a little anyway.

MemberHey Leonard,
I would love to hit taney for some night fishing with you again. They running water endlessly there too? I want to feesh badly!
The little red is nearing it’s power pool soon and baring any major rainfall we might get to fish the fall season before it’s over.Did I hear you are reduced to spin fishing with all the water?
Are you going to Sowbug this year?
Talk to you soon,
Chad

clark reidMemberIf it’s any consolation we were paying $7.75 per gallon recently… we are now grateful it has dropped back to $5.80 a gallon.
The exchange rate isn’t a factor as a dollar earned is a dollar spent and exchanges really only count when the money is moved… I guess that’s why we have so few V8’s here! 😮

MemberHey John what year is your wagoneer? I’ve had two of those in my car driving life, I love them and hate them. In certain ways Wagoneers are the worst cars ever made, but also the coolest.
I hope gas doesn’t drop so much so as to discourage development of alternative ways of powering our cars and trucks, most importantly bio-diesel.
I saw a Wag for sale the other day and thought, hmmm I wonder what it would take to convert a Wag into a waste veggie powered diesel? It would be nice to drive to the fishing hole using free grease from a BW3s!
