MemberAdam,
Good luck on the trip. I have fished the late season tarpon run with the shallow water expeditions guys for the past two years and they know their stuff. Be sure to post some pics. when you get back.Andrew Wright
MemberThanks for the comments guys. And thanks for the use of the rod Zach. I took it as a backup and it wound up being the only one I fished.
Keith,
Who are you fishing with and where are you fishing? You are headed down at the right time for sure.Cam,
That stuff is like two hours away from you…and you have a kayak…..Why aren’t you wearing that out? I’d be willing to bet you are going to want to make it a regular thing after this upcoming trip.Grant,
My brother and I towed the Gheenoe over to Georgetown, SC for a few days. We got into some fish….

MemberLooking good Steve.
How did the boat do with a big dog on board? My lab hasn’t been invited on a gheenoe outing yet, but I am sure she will be happy to tag along when she finally gets the chance…..
Andrew Wright
MemberI sure am. Peter and I were out on the Etowah on Saturday. I thought your name looked familiar. Hope all is well. Let’s go fishing some time….

MemberWhat epoxy product did you use? It really does look great.
I think we need to arrange a meetup on the hooch to compare notes.

MemberThat looks unbelievable. What was your method on the camo paint?

MemberThe tides were fairly strong, but it was the wind that gave us the really hard time. I certainly would not say that the conditions were optimal, but we made the best of what we had. Poling a light weight boat with a strong wind and a tide proved to be a chore.
Fun stuff though.

MemberTrailer did great Steve. The fly is just one that I made up. It is no secret that Carolina red fish love anything in copper.
Tim, it is actually a pretty firm bottom. It is pretty easy to wade and even easier to pole on.
Here is another group of pictures from yesterday….
I finally got to fish for a while with David poling the boat:

And David caught a lady fish:

We also managed to hook up with a big bonnet head shark that cut me off pretty quickly.
Also landed were a small flounder and a smaller grouper. No pictures of those.
Unfortunately, the fishing is done for the week. We have to head back tomorrow for a wedding.
