Just returned from a 5 day red fish trip in southern Louisiana – it was a great way to start off the Thanksgiving week.
Weather was great some days, bad others.
First few days we saw a ton of fish and caught some average sized ones.
On day 4, we finally started seeing some big fish and got one to cooperate.
Some random gear shots – we used the Scott S4S 7 and 8 weight rods and some new Abel and Tibor reels. Quite the setup.
Thanks for checking it out – happy Thanksgiving.
Nice report. I have always wanted to go there, fish redfish and eat that good Louisiana cajun food. Can you provide more specifics on your arrangements, like place, guide and cost?

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.
Looks like a great trip! Who were you fishing with and where?
Mark,
Great photos!
Super sweet pics … Looks like a damn fun trip!
Thanks again all.
DK, I fished with Tim Pommer from this board and another friend of ours who lives down there.
Tim, for your next epic fishing journey, I’d suggest the salt.
Mark, I totally agree. I need to get into the salt sometime soon. Although I think 3 weeks on the South Island, NZ over Christmas might not be too bad either… 😉
Mark,
Looks like you had a killer trip dude!
By the way, I may be in your AO for about 3-4 months Feb-May. What are the options???
Tim – that ain’t too shabby.
Mark/Tim P.,
Looks like an awesome trip. Thanks for the report. How about a little info on the flies you guys used? I am going to be there next week and would love to know what has been working.

Flies are probably the least important part of the arsenal.
Good deal. Thanks for the info.
Super cool report and pics Mark.
