I am spending the week on the South Carolina Coast this week. My brother David and I have been out in the boat a few times and he landed a couple fish while I poled. It is an awesome place……

The boat looks great in the water too:

    More to come soon hopefully.

    That pole is bad ass.

Oops. I meant to post this on the fishing board…..

These photos have no business on the photography thread.

Zach, if you get a chance, can you move it?

How deep do you sink in that mud?

Nicely done Andrew. I’m assuming the trailer did well on the trip over?

What fly pattern is that in the fish’s mouth?

Trailer did great Steve. The fly is just one that I made up. It is no secret that Carolina red fish love anything in copper.

Tim, it is actually a pretty firm bottom. It is pretty easy to wade and even easier to pole on.

Here is another group of pictures from yesterday….

I finally got to fish for a while with David poling the boat:

And David caught a lady fish:

We also managed to hook up with a big bonnet head shark that cut me off pretty quickly.

Also landed were a small flounder and a smaller grouper. No pictures of those.

Unfortunately, the fishing is done for the week. We have to head back tomorrow for a wedding.

Very cool, I so want to see these redfish.

Why do weddings always come up when the fishing is going to fire ? Happened to me last weekend……….

Nice photos, that area is great. How high were the tides while you were there? I was there in June and the conditions were tough. Hoping to get back over there in Nov.

    That is lovely.

The tides were fairly strong, but it was the wind that gave us the really hard time. I certainly would not say that the conditions were optimal, but we made the best of what we had. Poling a light weight boat with a strong wind and a tide proved to be a chore.

    Fun stuff though.
