MemberI didn’t know that the tripleKA made it to Texas. I remember my buddies old south week in GA and my ears ringing from their mini cannon that they used to fire off every 3 minutes.

MemberI think that the biggest problem that i see in GA/TN is boat ramp etiquette.
- Staging while on the ramp
- Securing roof mounted boats on the ramp for 15 minutes
- Scenic tubers standing aimlessly in the way oblivious to a vehicle with a trailer backing down
- Dog owners playing fetch on boat ramps

Member$340 from ATL or Nashville to Bozeman is a steal! I would book in lieu of waiting. I think the norm from ATL is $460-$600

MemberHey Andrew, at least it wasn’t a hog strapped to the roof!
I grew up in Griffin so i am somewhat numb to redneck games
I think that the most redneck thing one could do would be to pull for the Florida Gators

Memberscott, I have used the line extensively for about 3 years and i never really pay attention to the line as much as i do with a strike indicator.
what you need to know however is that the taper is the most efficient double rig/splitshot/indicator tossers on the market.
If you do not like the orange, color it or cut it off. In years past (think Cortland 333 days) the trend was for fly-line to be bright yellow, white or orange and guys still caught fish so go figure.

MemberThe stagecoach is pretty neat, and has room with a restaurant/bar downstairs if you want nostalgia and want to stay in town. There are also more modern best western/super 8 and a few other options on the south side of downtown.
I spent about half a year in west a few summers ago and I loved the fishing but not so much the town. Its surroundings are great and there are some great people there but its a different breed compared to towns like Dillon, Bozeman or Livingston.Adam McDowell
MemberIve used the patagonia short wading jacket for about 5 years now and it still works as well as the day i bought it. somebody hit the nail on the head regarding the cuffs though, they are imo the most critical area of attention.

MemberI went through a similar scenario with USPS recently over a rod and my options were;
Give the rod back to USPS permanently and they would refund the insurance cost, which was the ebay purchase price (basically voiding the purchase), which would not replace the rod (unless I found another good deal).
or
Do nothing with USPS and eat the cost to have it replaced through warranty (which I chose to do).
Maybe you will have better luck

MemberI used to fish with a backpack a good bit, just an old one from rei that i had from school, but it had hydration capabilities which was nice. it is convenient for trips where you shed & add layers a good bit, but you nailed the fly box dilemma. if you go that route your best bet is to use a lanyard and small fly boxes that fit in shirt pockets or wader chest pockets.

MemberDave, I really wanted to pull one in on a fly but we could not get the weather to cooperate and had limited sight fishing opportunities.
We were using medium action 8-17lb 7′ rods with shimano 4000 reels
40lb braid and 15lb floro leaders – on par with what you would use for bass fishing which makes for long fights and sore forearmsAdam McDowell
MemberNICE! that’s awesome. How did you like Kyle? He’s a cool guy.
Kyles a salt of the earth guy, I am strongly considering booking with him this summer for a tarpon trip

MemberMike, great portrayal of winter weather and fun fishing on the f-hole. Have you been fishing the Madison in the park at all?

MemberI have the simms medium size bag as well as the patagonia bag (old green one that used to be $185) and i think that its a toss up. They both have zipper problems but in different ways.
The patagonia bag can be B**** to get open at times, even with the provided zipper lube. Its interior is laid out a little better and fits cliff bugger beast JR’s as well as plano 3600 style boxes well. the interior organizer flap is also great for personal items and frequently used items.
I had a similar zipper blowout with my simms bag in the denver airport, but to their defense, my bag was extremely overloaded and it was easily fixed due to having two zippers(patagonia only has one but it is much larger).
I love both bags and wouldn’t get rid of either, however I paid $50 for the Simms from Cabelas on sale, & the Patagonia is currently upwards of $200. That would be a major consideration if I were in your shoes.
I wish that in hindsight i had probably bought the large Simms guide bag that others mentioned, but it may be to wide to fit in the ultimate.
