Nice job Zach. Do you turn the canoe upside down so it rides flat on the axle? If not….could you build some type of cradle that fits the contour of the hull…and bungee the canoe to it.

One slight critique….is the axle a little wider than need be? I know some trails to the river may not be too wide.

Due to my occupation I also know waaay more about larcenies from vehicles than I need/want to know.

These type crimes are typically crimes of opprtunity. Thieves are looking for items of value that are easily seen from outside the vehicle….GPS, laptop cases, luggage, sunglasses, loose change in the console and yes….fishing gear.

Bottom line….when you park (and lock) your car…do as a criminal would do….and look into the passenger compartment for items of value. Also examine the ground around the parking area. Do you see shards of window glass from previous victim’s vehicles. All that glitters is not gold.

Stickers or not…..if there are no “goodies” visible….the thief will most likely move on to the next car.

When going through ATL….timing is everything. Coming south on 75….go through the City before 0630 or after 0930 in the morning. If you’re traversing in the evening…..get there before 1500 or after 1930. Of course all times are guesses based on years of experience….and all it takes is one fender bender and all bets are off.

Gary…I fish sink tips most of the time now. I love to dredge the bottom with big streamers. With that said….I like a heavier sink tip, preferably 400 grains or more. I had a guide tell me once…”if you are not getting hung up on the bottom every now and then….you’re not fishing deep enough.”

About 10 years ago I took my youngest son to Dry Run Creek on the first day of a one week trip to Arkansas. Pulled the driftboat out and had planned to fish the White and Norfolk. At the end of the first day on Dry Run…my son was spoiled. He wanted to go back everyday. I think I was able to fish the White and Norfolk only one day each.
