    Hey y’all,

Haven’t been around these parts for awhile (damned jobby-job), but I’m on the hunt for some images for use on the OrvisNews.com fly fishing blog.

    1. A beautiful shot of a trout redd or redds. Can have a trout in it or not.

    2. A driftboat with two anglers casting out of it.

    3. An angler in the midst of making an upstream mend.

Also, we want to run a “Photo of the Week,” which could be an image of literally anything to do with fly fishing. This might be a way to use some of those shots you think are super-cool but don’t fit any how-to, where-to application that the magazines are looking for.

Payment for use on the Web is (gulp!) $50. I started in this business at Outdoor Life, where we paid $1500 for a cover, then dropped down to American Angler, where we paid $600 for a cover, and now I’m working on the Web, where we pay $50 a pop for photos. Dunno where I go from here.

    Thanks,

    Phil

Ill throw in 3 for the pic of the week topic. Im partial to the first to be honest. Not my best image either aesthetically, however a very special moment for me and my new fiance. 3 weeks ago on a N. GA. small stream through a mile of rhodo. We were “brookie fishing”!

    Anything goes…

This could maybe be upstream mend too..

    Or maybe some tarpon action…

You already ran one from this series, but her’s another for the mend.

I’ll throw my hat in with a couple for the ‘photo of the day’ theme you’ve been running lately.  All are from the North Island, NZ.

    Tim –

If I may say so, if you had left the flies in those fishes’ mouths, I suspect those would be cover shot candidates for the magazines.
