    I took a trip down to the Gulf last weekend to fish with Shallow Water Expeditions for tarpon. This is a trip that fellow IA member Aras Naujoukas and I have been doing for several years now, and we had a blast. The fish were there in solid numbers.







    The Shallow Water guys are top notch. It was a fantastic trip.

    We also took a little detour one night to the Indian Pass Raw Bar right outside Apalachicola. It was worth the drive. Seriously, one of the coolest places I have eaten at in a long time and the food was outstanding.

    It has been a very good tarpon season this year.  I was a little worried about the effects of the oil spill, but there seems to be more tarpon this year than in the last few years.

    Agreed. The numbers we saw on this trip were as good as I have ever seen.
