MemberHey Brett, are they jamming on the liner fabric or wear and tear?
Ive got a 7yo waterdance, and a 4yo backpack I use daily and the zippers work better than their owner so I’m curious. My suggestion email fishpond. They have always been super receptive to criticism/feedback
Heck I trod on and broke the female part of the waist belt called them up to order a new part and they sent one for nix.
Cheers

MemberFather taught me that arbor knot when I was a tacker for spinning reels.
Don’t see it much in the fly world, I tend to use the uni- ala Whitlock. But funnily enough I was doing 3 reels on Sunday heading out for customers and this came back to as perhaps a faster method.nice one.
Now I seem to be spending more time on biminis due tothe back loop on a lot of new lines _ the loop is overkill but that’s fly fishing.

Member2ys almost to the day better 250-300 days and the soles are almost gone. Guide boots as well. that was the winter they were introduced.
I also cover a lot of territory so at kelly’s rate that is almost 5y, pretty decent. The uppers are still good, so I’m going to get them resoled. I don’t need the studs on our rivers.
Interestingly I left them at home recently, and had to borrow some felts on a very familiar section and I was skating all over the place, didn’t swim but dunked an arm shoulder.

MemberSicne I haven’t see the new “supremes”, i won’t comment on that yet. Seen a few river skiffs look good haven’t ridden in one yet.
But I think the Topwaters look seriously trick, look a way more modern boat than my supreme, better lines light and 2 fellow guides who bought them are very happy.
but its kinda like asking which rod.

MemberFirst thread back, after a couple of years not not being around this place.
As for the White yep $350 is standard, including flies leaders and tippet. I’m not sure how long it can last at that, but there has been an influx of new guys seeking business, plus more of the bait guides wanting a share of the dollar, doing it for way less.
The latter is interesting in that these guys generally can’t cast, cant teach and wander into the shop the day before your trip and ask me what flies are working.Steve Dally

MemberTim –
“Have tried calling their number for months with no answer.”
Really? Â No offense, man, but I sincerely doubt that. Â What number are you calling? Â That’s one of those things people throw around on these boards that can be really hurtful to a company and, frankly, is patently untrue. Â I have called the 800 number on Scott’s website no fewer than four times in the last month and they always answered and put me through to the person I needed. In fact, when my rod shipped back to me, they called *me* to let me know.
Are you aware that they are in the Mountain time zone? Â I often call out west at 9:00 or 10:00 AM my time, only to realize that no one is at work yet in the west.
Zach
Same here we have spoken a bunch with them over the last 3 weeks. UPS lost a customers S3. and we have been back and forth with scott, serial numbers value etc trying to get UPS to cough up insurance

Doesn’t leave much time for stocking your fly boxes sadlySteve Dally
MemberI’m a dealer too _ These sort of posts keep cropping up re Scott. I think they have had some issues in the past, notably repairs, but there was new chairman capital injection and Im told one of the key issues to be resolved was repair times.
The link may have been down earlier but worked for me tonight _ website looks different so I reckon they may have had an update which screwed the links
Definately tough times in the fly fishing world but Scott keeps boxing on becuase of the faithful.
We have had some repairs done recently better times than in previous years, our rep just across the border remains in the game.
Which S4 do you want to try?

MemberNice photos guys, the fly is lethal, for fish fly rods and your skull lol
But as I was reminded a week ago and and Bob has on the front page of his website the co-conspirator on this fly was Tom Schmuecker from Wapsi, who first came up with the dumbell eyes.

MemberAnother question.
How many CCIs actually teach casting regularly
::)Steve Dally
MemberKenya and other african countries were the traditional source for a lot of UK tying companies.
Umpqua main soruce is sri lanka, Rainys I think sources a lot from thailand.all about 1 thing low cost labor. But as has been pointed out flytying is a pays better than average wages. I looked at some figures recently and average hourly wage in sri lanka 27 US cents an hour, but that was before a national wage rise of around 30%

MemberIts horses for courses look at the design of a rod and what it is designed for.
The Xi2 is a saltwater stick, designed for casting into wind for stuff like bones etc etc, Longer casts and generally not with the big windresistant stuff like bass poppers. That fits the billl with the Bass rods to a T.
short to mid distances big bugs etc etc.The 7′ rod is more accurate period, the flyline is going to turn them over.
Im keen on a bass rod but tossing a couple of
