Try craft fur for the smaller ones and you can get it from Bob and Ed Story (great guys) @ Feathercraft.

Going through the posts after registering here…great post on Bob Clouser.

Was wondering; I tie Clousers and probably have more bucktail than a local herd of deer, however, I purchased the video of Bob and Lefty teaching bass fishing with fly. They talk about the new translucent materials for tying the Clouser…..
do any of you use these materials, what are they and where do you get them?

    Thanks,  Jim

My Clousers are 100% synthetic with Krystal Flash for both the top and bottom wings with Holographic 3D Flashabou for the center flash.

I posted this in another thread, but it seemed fitting given the topic. This is a buffalo caught at a local tail-water with a Clouser Foxy Minnow.

No pictures to share but I fish mostly warm water and I always start with a Clouser of some sort.

On a trip to PA where heavy rains spoiled the fishing, I visited his shop. Very nice man. It was slow in the shop, so he sat and talked as if we had known each other for a long time. He gave me a salt-water version that he had personally tied along with his autograph on a shop business card. I have the two of them hanging in my home office. Great fly, great man.

Nice photos guys, the fly is lethal, for fish fly rods and your skull lol

But as I was reminded a week ago and and Bob has on the front page of his website the co-conspirator on this fly was Tom Schmuecker from Wapsi, who first came up with the dumbell eyes.
