MemberHey Mike,
For myself, I’m not ready yet.

MemberLike Rick, I plan on going for my masters, but not for a few years. I heard the oral test can be grueling. They can ask you anything they want about any fishing/casting subject they want usually in a 2 hour period.

MemberI am thinking about testing for my masters in October at the Conclave in Mt Home. Yes I have heard the oral test can be pretty rough, I took a mini-pre test with a master in Montana last week and felt very comfortable doing some of the cast but others I need to tweak a little

MemberHey Scott how was the Conclave? I went to the one in Bozeman two years ago and tested and passed the CCI exam. We were in Livingston during the conclave this year which is a long haul to Whitefish so I fished instead 🙂

MemberThe conclave was good but lacked attendance.

I’m rather fortunate, and know a few masters in the SW. Â They will be certifying me independently instead of waiting for a group event. Â I’ve been practicing every Tuesday now for a year and half with Larry Allen, a Master CCI down here in Az. Â
If I hadn’t had been through this myself, I wouldn’t believe it; but, I catch more fish now that I can throw the line. Sounds ridiculous, I’m sure. I still remember when I use to say, “I can catch more fish than most, I don’t need to master the casting part of it.” Â Amazing how my perception has changed being on the other side of that now.
Just my thoughts, not trying to slam anyone for not wanting to pursue their CCI or anything.

MemberScot are you saying if I know a Master they can’t test me? I’m pretty sure the rules state you can’t be taught by them or tutored prior to the test.
