These post are a real inspiration. I believe most of the folks here love food about as much as fishing and sometimes more. As of late, I have not been able to hit this site as often due to time crunching but post like this make me laugh and make my mouth water for a little more for fishing travel.

The talk of Crumbles makes a person like myself say “Huh”… Is this a cobbler with a different mother? I had home made at peach cobbler as my grooms cake at my wedding and yes there was home made ice cream as well.

Then there is the talk of mac and cheese. In the south, this is considered a vegetable and served as such. With a glass of sweet tea (the house wine of the south) and some part of a pig you have a meal.

Then there is the talk of barbeque. The mustard based sauce that Cameron talks about is amazing… once you get past the alien aspect of eating scary yellow meat. If in the SC area visit Maurice’s and try it out. I had a white Alabama sauce last week that was just as good and I believe the oddity made it even better. And there is the talk about DRY vs WET RIBS. This debate causes fights in Memphis. Personally I like the Wet Ribs but that is because I only know one place that cooks a really good Dry Rub Rib and I have to say that it is also my favorite rib. (Rendezvous Charles Vergos in good ole Memphis – remember to visit the king) All this talk and it does not even hit the best barbeque in the South…. But I’ll leave that up to your imaginations. But if in Athens Georgia Area for any reason visit Hot Thomas or Zeb Dean’s and join a local debate – And Like fishing holes, I still know a hole in the wall only open one day a week with a limited supply with meat that is far beyond either – this is much like stream X) Travel into North Carolina and the real debate is on. One towns name makes your mouth water. Lexington.
