All rods break… don’t they?. I havn’t seen a rod yet that can manage a car door or some dude stepping on it.
Mike, anecdotally I havn’t heard of any of the newer graphite sages busting for any fishing reasons than normal. Clousering, high sticking, angler error. The Nti redington on the other hand was one that I have had some first hand and plenty of second hand experience of “unusual?” and “regular” breakages. It was really thin and made with graphite I believe for lightness but a bit fragile. I don’t think the 5th generation sages have that issue. Perhaps they solved it? ::) 😉One of my guide friends in Alaska has returned all of his “other brand” rods due to what he believed was a design fault with that model. Every rod broke in the same place and he had a tough time getting them fixed. he broke 6 this last season.
I suppose luckily sage rods come with a really good guarantee eh? 🙂

I’ve used the outbound 9wt on my 7 switch and it was great for OH but I struggled with longer “switch” casts. Probably attributable more to my ineptitude than the line! :-[
The best line for me was a steelhead taper – I was using the rod for indicator nymphing with shot and high sticking. I didn’t really use it for down stream swinging. The midspey line went well on the rod also. All lines were 2 weights up. (9wts)

I listen to all sorts while tying from classical to reggae, depending on the time of day and flies.
Big saltwater flies often get some rock treatment and the CDC emergers and parachute dries seem to come out better with classical? ::)Yep
I havn’t even met Zach in person yet but chatted on the phone and over Skype.

I have a Danielsson FW the next lightest in the series but with a drag. Lovely reels and basically maintenance free. (sealed drag)
Loops, as Zach said, were made in Sweden by Danielsson but may now be outsourced.
I don’t think you will be disappointed.
You just have to decide whether you want a traditional series reel or one with drag 🙂More of a shooter than a hunter but annually get out for a shot. Normally just something for the freezer.
Pigs, deer and other ferals. I spent a couple of years following my father in-law shooting for animal control.
Kill and destroy missions out of choppers with no doors and with a H&K or Bennelli shotgun for goats is adrenaline plus. All in the name of flora conservation. [smiley=evil.gif]Still I prefer fishing. ::)
