How much is it going to suck when you PhD program ends by the way? Β I’m guessing you’re trying your best to find employment down there.

    Employment/marriage… πŸ˜‰
It all ends in residency and unlimited troutbumming in NZ

If you think the fishing in the South is good. Please somebody ask Tim to stick his recent North Island adventure up!
I have to work out how to get TA’s visa cancelled so some of us mortals can get back amongst it!

    HI John
    Thats the whole stream.
Jack is right. This is another river “hidden in plain view” and not everyone drives past. – I’m glad many of them do though.
To be honest, much of the fishing depicted in NZ is the backcountry stuff. The cool thing though is – remote doesn’t necessarily mean more or bigger trout. Doing the backcountry in NZ should be about the experience and the opportunity to explore. We are lucky as we have a ton of fishing off roads and bridges that rival the best anywhere.
I do love getting away from it all though sometimes and unfortunately don’t do it enough :'(

    Well spotted.
Jack- get some stony creek pants. They rock and you’ll look like you’ve graduated from tights

    Cheers guys
Fish were eating small brown copper heads. To be honest I think they eat most things as long as they present right.

Summer here and loving it Zach.

David many of our rivers run October to April but there are plenty of regional variations in that mix. Down South rivers with rainbows will often stay open an additional month and iin the Central North Island, the rivers flowing into Taupo go December to May with the Tongariro staying open all year round throughout most of its accessible length.

I’d have a bottom bucket lip like that if I lived downstream from the Jack Daniells Distillery!
