I just realized rods were a mixture of bamboo and glass on the smaller streams. ::)

FWIW I’m probably pretty tough on gear and we tend to walk a lot in NZ both up the river and then back to the car.
An hour walking back wouldn’t be unusual.

If I get 100 days I’m stoked. Most pairs, if I take care of them and wet wade at least 1/2 the season will last me a couple of seasons.

The “old man” sticks make a huge difference on the formed track and for hoofing it back to the car for coffee and beer after. The walking pole with camera attachment might be a goody?If you don’t like it dangling I leave one of the snap swivels for connecting to my shirt through a button hole.
