I recently had the good fortune to have a photo essay published here in NZ in the NZ Fish and Game magazine. I’m still looking foward to having a cover published, but in the meantime this was a good milestone for me.

Of course any critique good or bad please share with me. I’m always looking for ways to improve. I know I probably could have edited a few of those shots better, and a few are quick grabs in the heat of the moment and very soft. One shot in particular I could have easily improved I guess is the fish with the Shilton, which could have been burnt in some more.

    I hope you all enjoy… ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful stuff, Stu. Especially that last pre-war Perfect.

Great work Stu! thanks for sharing. I really dig the Abel’s with James’ artwork on them and the brownie with the abel brownie is icing on the cake to me

Thanks guys. Zach, the old Perfect is a part of a private collection of reels with an estimated value of “a couple of Porsche’s”, and still very much in use today!

Stu, your stuff is brilliant! I can only guess who your Abel reel model was. ::) my personal favorite is the reels all lined up side by side. Great stuff mate!

Ha ha, glad you all enjoyed. Most of those Abels on the coffee table were Mr Chu’s. Quite a sight to behold. ย ๐Ÿ™‚
Joe, my own beat up old SA System2 didn’t make the editors cut, so just for you..

    Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Tim, the majority of that is 17-55 2.8 and also a lot of 100mm macro. I just about always have those two lenses with me on the river as well as 10-22.

    Good spotting Colin ๐Ÿ˜‰
