MemberMy name is Grant Schofield and I am from Oklahoma City. I am a 26 year old father of 2 and a computer geek by trade. I have been fly fishing for close to 5 years, but this year, with a lot of success, have tried to spend a lot more time on the water fishing for things that aren’t trout.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

MemberHello all,
Grew up in New Orleans, spent the last 12 years practicing law in Baton Rouge – Geaux Tigers! – hung ’em up at the end of 2006. Now, as a recovering lawyer, I work part time in the fly shop in New Orleans and try to find other ways to make some change. Never married, no kids, awesome girlfriend with a busy schedule that allows for plenty fishing.
I chase redfish in the marsh about an hour from New Orleans when it’s not 100 degrees outside, and I handle the travel program for the fly shop which is how I manage to swing my destination fishing (this year to Jackson Hole and the Bahamas). Also drive to Arkansas or the GSMNP for trouts.
Been out of the country for most of the summer so it is good to be back and see how far Zach has taken the site. Cheers,
Billy
Hey Billy!

MemberI am Bryan Hulse and I live in Nashville with my wife and our two daughters, ages eight and four. I recently turned 44. I work for a package shipping company–been with them for 21 years–the time split between operations and industrial engineering.
I destination fish because it is easier to go away for a fishing trip than to go somewhere local and be an hour or two late getting back. Of the places I’ve been Yellowstone is, and will probably always be, my favorite.
My best fishing partner has been my younger brother (we took up fly fishing around the same time), but my daughters are fast at his heels; and, my wife recently went with the girls and me and had a lot of fun.
I’ve got to say that I’ve really enjoyed participating on this board for the last couple of years, due in large part to its tone, and because answers and opinions are usually well thought out. It’s nice that so many have taken the time to introduce themselves.

Joel ThompsonMemberJoel Thompson 39 years old and a 5th generation Montanan. I have been married to my wife Debbie for 16 great years. We have no kids just a big yellow lab named Riley. I am a fishing guide and director of outdoor activities for Rock Creek Cattle Co. in Deer Lodge Montana. I have been fishing almost my entire life and actively fly fishing for about 25 of those years. I have fished in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and the Virgin Islands.
I have been privleged to meet several of the people from this board and I can assure you that they will always be friends of mine. Great people on this board and I love being a part of it. I think it would be really cool if we could all meet somewhere for some time of reunion. (Didn’t know what else to call it.

Sep 6, 2007 at 1:15 pm #21018mark craig
MemberI’m Mark Craig. I’m 40 and live in Acworth Georgia. I’m known on most boards as Kayakerguy. I’m recently married to my wife Trish.
I’m a Jack of all trades, and a Master of nothing. I help manage a fly shop in Cartersville (Highland Outfitters), and guide when not in the shop. I also build and restore rods; bamboo, graphite & glass, and tie most of the flies I use. I chose this path as my career after an illness ended a very promising career in the healthcare field.
I’m lucky in that My wife enjoys to fly fish with me, but what she enjoys more than that is fly tying. She has come up with some very productive original patterns. We also enjoy photography (which is what brought us together) and videography.
Most of our fishing is done in North Ga. as well as Tenn. & N.C. with some farther trips sprinkled around from time to time. My wife is from Mobile Al. so it’s actually fun to visit the in-laws. This gets me closer to the sea trout and reds.Sep 6, 2007 at 6:10 pm #21019fshflyboggs
MemberMy name was Dan Boggs- but had it leagally changed to FSHFLY BOGGS so I wouldn’t have to change for this board

MemberHey there. I live in SW Wisconsin with my wife, daughter, and two boys (6, 4, 3). I work for a large organic foods co-op as a graphic designer in their marketing department. I have to say my drive to work everyday is all country driving with much along trout streams โ and any backed up traffic is due to milk trucks, school buses, tractors, and Amish buggies!
I’m spoiled with many miles of spring creeks practically at my doorstep but as you can imagine having a three young children keeps life interesting and hopping! Still, I get out weekly either early mornings, evenings after kid’s bedtimes, or find a few hours during the weekend. Main thing is I really do try to not cut into the family time โ esp. for the sake of my wife’s sanity! As for destination fishing, that only means heading to Iowa or Illinois when visiting family (and they consider trout bait down there).
I agree with Zach too as this has been a great post!
