Awesome pics. I myself just love to go out and cast the two-hander for a while knowing I probably will not get a tug, but its so much fun going through all the different casts. What line and rod setups were you using?

They are awesome. I use the Back Country, and my dad has the Spring Creek. Never had any problems with them. You can’t go wrong with a Tibor.

The line is actually pretty good. I was doubtful about it when the rep was telling me about, I figured I give it a shot and was surprised. I really like it for skinny water. By no means is it going to replace the line I use up on Lake Michigan, but a good line still. I have caught about 15 carp on it so far in the couple of days that I have had it so I can’t complain to much.

Yep, that’s a Livestrong bracelet, got to keep it down for my home boy Lance since I’m a cyclist too. The other bracelets are for Concern of Police Officer Survivors and a bracelet I had made after my uncle was killed in the line in duty.

If the skagit head has the two loops a loop at the end of the shooting line would be fine. This way you can mess around with changing heads. Backing is a must, just do what ever not you like for your connection to the backing.

I found out about it around July. It’s more or less become an annual thing up there, in terms of being a clave. It was organized by The Great Lakes Spey Shop, which is part of The Great Lakes Fly Fishing Co. The best way to keep up on stuff like claves is to watch speypages.com, I know that they are talking about having a gathering, not really a clave towards Thanksgiving on the Muskegon.
I get to play with one this weekend. I’m getting one for my new Z-axis two hander. The reel is so flipping sweet I first saw it about a month ago and can’t stop thinking about it.

The eyes were perfect. The thing that I was worried about was the legs. I thought they were going to spook some fish.
That’s awesome. I can’t wait till I have kids and do things like that with them. I get a kick out of taking kids on guide trips and just seeing how excited they get when they catch, no matter the size. It’s also great seeing the smile that comes on their parent’s face too.

Well, its not technically a shop, its the fly department at Lunker’s. They had I think around half a dozen last time I was up.
I know a shop in Michigan that still has G’s in stock, and I think they were at full retail still last time I looked this spring.

There is a Rio Carp line, I messed around with it the other day. It is made to make a more delicate presentation to help avoided spooking the carp.
I got the steelhead bug so bad right now, I have been tying up steelhead streamers for at least two hours these past couple of nights. I’ll post the pics later.
I casted the 5,6,and 8wt. TCX. It far surpasses the TCR. The best way to describe the rod would be a cross between a Z-axis and Xi2, with the power of the Xi2, with a hint more speed and the feel of the Z-axis. The rod felt great. This is going to become my go to streamer rod and my light saltwater rod.
