MemberSo, sitting at my desk and looking back at 08, I’m thinking about what is it that sticks out for you? While we draw close to this year’s bookend, are there any thoughts, photos, trips or fish that stick out for you? I’ll post a couple, hoping to that folks will add what really was a stand-out moment for them during this past year.
My brother with a huge Lahonton

My little man at two years old handling a small stream

Falling in love with Buckets on the Fly

Hitting the biggest baddest hatch out there, on the Maddison

Every angler alive, should fish Pyramid before they die

Loosing Friends

Sorry tried not to post any duplicate photos that have been used here before, but this was the Last fishing trip with my dad.

Please share your memories, I’m looking foward to reading them all.

MemberAaron, I just posted above, but I’ll remember learning how to throw the cast net on American Samoa.

Chad SimcoxMemberHmm looking back at this past year, I don’t have much of anything fishing related.
I moved to L.A. (Hollywood).
Been working a lot!
I’ve met and worked with lots of talented people.
Had my first photo published and it was a 2 page spread in American Angler.
Went trout fishing once. Double Digit day on dries on a river that had gang graffiti painted everywhere. It’s been a good year, just not fishing wise.

MemberI helped make at least one small fisherperson happy. Fish was $4.99/lb, the picture is just a snapshot, but the smile is priceless.

Watching the same 5 year old learn to surf was fun, too.

MemberGreat input guys;
Bill – I’ve never tried myself, but have heard it’s easier to hit yourself with the weights on meshed in the net than it looks – is that true?
Chad your AA photo is still one of my favorite ever, If I were a guessing-man I would think you will have many more to follow. Also, that little stream is my Disney – Getaway. Every year my family has this sick tradition of rounding the whole gang up and spending a week at Disney. Next time I make it up (which is pretty much every year, I’ll PM you – maybe we can go scrub off some of the spray paint. You ever make it up past the bunji jumpers bridge?
This is upriver of the graffiti

The Bows are painted here like water colors

Aaron -C: To me looks like a perfect season, no matter the cost per pound. Thanks for sharing that.

Chad SimcoxMemberAaron we’ll have to hit up the stream for sure. I’ve only been up the west fork so i haven’t been to the bridge. Some day though! I’ve avoided going to the streams in the summer but now that fall is on it’s way I assume we’ll get some rain at some point. I’ll be heading up to the Kern in a few weeks to go fishing with a friend.

MemberA new backyard named Bozeman, MT that delivers opportunies for brownies like this at every turn. 100s of miles of productive streams for my favorite ride. A lifetime dream come true.

And the year doesn’t end until the streams and rivers ice up!

John BennettMember2008 wil go down as a huge year for me.
It’s the year I realised a life long dream and that was to contribute to some Magazines. Got my first break in January after my wife convinced to step out on a limb and send a submission to one of the mags I read.
That CD caught the attention of the AD and AE.
With some help and advice from Zach a few months later I had my first assignments. Since then Ive had some more and have more coming this fall. As of this writing I’ll have photos accompanying quite a few articles when they start running next Spring/Summer, including a couple covers. I just wrapped 3 days of hard work for the June/July cover. I wish I could share some of those but I can’t, not until they goto press. With the boost in confidence Ive started and have acheived some inroads with a few more magazines, and there is a good chance the stuff I’ve been on my own time for the Pro Bass Tourneys is going to start paying off to. From magazines to some of the corporate sponsers.
2009 wil hopefully see the culmination of alot of hard work, building the fondations, starting to come together even more.
Some photographic memories.
It was my Falconry shots that really got the ball going for me

With April came Pre season Steelheading

Trout Openers

May and June were all about Browns

July and Aug were all about Bass Tourneys

Somewhere in between all of that, I managed to find some “me” time

This fall Im going to be really busy. With luck it wil pay off and 2008 can springboard into 2009.
