Was able to get out this morning and rip the spey casts a bit, as well as shoot some pictures.  Every once in a while I was able to shoot a good cast out, but still learning.

    It was cold

Overall, a good day of casting practice, even with no fish to hand.

    Mark,

Awesome pics. I myself just love to go out and cast the two-hander for a while knowing I probably will not get a tug, but its so much fun going through all the different casts. What line and rod setups were you using?

    Will,

I did pick up a couple flatheads about 20lbers. on my switch rod. Real awesome experience. I still need to fish some larger water though for them.

I was using the SA Spey Skagit Deluxe with Sharkskin running line, with some 200 grain sink tip.

No cats…the smallie bite kept me busy clear into the fall.

must be nice to fish there during the off season – no crowds, no litter, no bm on the rocks and trails

i’m not that great on swinging flies on my 2 hander but that water is super fast and might be a bid hard to get the technique down

Will –  Thanks for the info.  It will be put to good use.

I have never seen it done in real life,
but it sure looks like a lot of commitment.
Check out this video that a friend put me
on to. This Korean lady sure can cast.

I think I’d like to give this a try.

Anybody using the light weight speys to go after trout (other than Zach)?

Actually Regan, Sean was using a 5 weight that day.  I’ll have to find out what type of line and rod, but I know it’s a lighter setup for trout.
