Yeah, I ‘ve tried it. I have a 691-4 coming for me with the first order for the shop I work at. That will be my second new Sage in a month, I think I have a problem ::)

Being a fellow college student here is my advice. I know that you said you are focusing on the history of fly fishing in the US. In addition to the basic background of fly fishing history I would also add about the introduction of the various forms of fly fishing and the development of fly fishing locations through out the US. This will open up the door for many references to you and would be pretty interesting. Also I would include how the fly fishing culture has changed throughout time in the US. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah that’s one of Kevin’s patterns. Normal I don’t articulate the pattern, especially now that I am on a tube fly kick. I have a ton of his patterns tied up, I need to get moving and tie a lot more up though.

I would go with a mod-fast or a fast action rod that is 9ft. A 6wt. is the best rod for almost all conditions you will face. A 7wt. is good, but is not neccessary, it does help with the bigger bass bugs, but if you are an ok caster you don’t need to go this heavy. As for line go with a multi-tip line. I prefer Rio’s VersiTip, the great thing about it is that the floating tip is the Clouser taper. With this you can fish poppers, streamers, nymphs, and terrestrials. You will be covered for an conditions with this line.

The claws I used came from some packs we had in the shop that were already precut. So no positive idea on material, but you can use a chamois and just color it with a marker to get the desired color.
As for the rabbit, it’s just the packs of cross-cut you get from Wapsi, with a zonker strip for the white.

Nope, my amount of fishing time has been cut back a little, but I still love it as much as I did before guiding, if not more.

Great podcast. Found it really interesting since the shop I work for carries Patagonia. I basically live in their stuff, and it’s all I wear when out guiding and fishing.

I figured we let this go for a couple more days then proceed from there if the 15th is going to be the best for most. Also if you guys want to suggest any other days feel free too. This about having fun and meeting some great people, so the more that can attend the better.
I know Zach said he was going to be doing podcasts with some of the vendors at the show. I don’t want to take away from that, but if he doesn’t mind I can fill you guys in.

I know the 15th of November has been thrown around. Let just see if this is going to work for most people. Need to get the ball rolling on this. I put up the poll, just answer yes or no, this will give us a good idea if this day is worth it or not. As we stated early it would be on the PM, and I believe Spencer put up a lot of good info. So lets see what the vote is.
