Great game though, really did well to hold the All-Blacks in the second half…

The Kiwi’s are never easy there… 😉I’m a little disappointed in the Bok’s #7 (can’t even come close to spelling his name) hit on Mortlock – very un-sporting and very poor form..
He should be banned for a season for trying so hard to hurt an opposition player in that way.I don’t think he does his own team any favors either..

Dusty. the Americans are not up there in the rugby, though they have a team for the world cup.
They need to spend some money on the team and pull some players away from the NFL, no doubt if they did they could put some bug boys up the front of the pack.. 😉Right now South Africa are #1, New Zealand 2 and Australia #3 in the world rankings..
England, Ireland, Wales, France and Argentina all field good teams as well, the English won the world cup before this last one in a great game that went into two overtimes.

Nikon filters used to be veru well made when I was a Nikon guy (85-95), I even stil use a couple of their UV’s – I don’t know what they’re like now though..

Hi Carter, Mine are not real thin, I would guess about 4 or 5 mm ?
I have some thin mount Hoyas and I find they have all come loose or fallen apart and I think it’s because they’re not solid enough.
The old ones never fell apart.Now I would only use a B&W or Rodenstock and am in the process of replacing all of mine..

I don’t think were tht bad off here in Oz yet, but just the same, everyone is being cautious now and I hear sales of tackle are down.
I’m not spending much on gear at the moment, but a bunch of new stuff in the market will, ass ever, be hard to ignore.. 😉

Simon, I can help you with this, but it’s a very long conversation..
SH is fine, just don’t get to old and make sure it’s been looked after.
New is also a good idea in that you get the latest and greatest.
Email me your budget and I’ll have a look around Sydney for what’s going, there might be a must have.
Lot’s of new stuff about to lob as well, so a wait might be worth it. 😉

Sorry, forgot about the lens question.
The 35 f2, 50 1.4, 85 1.8 , 100 f2 and 100 Macro are all excellent non L lenses..
There will no doubt be some new lenses announced as well..

The 10D is a very old model in digital terms and while it’s not a bad camera, it has been left behind by the newer ones.
The 40D will be much better at high ISO, also color depth and dynamic range will lunch the 10D.
Auto focus will be better and faster as well..Asd I said on another thread, Photokina, the king of all photo trade shows is on soon (can’t remember when – sept ?) and lots of new stuff comes out for it..
Canon will have a replacement for the 5D amongst other stuff.
I don’t know if the 40 is getting replaced, I think it’s a bit new for that, but there might be an upgrade or something.

Unless you’re in a screaming hurry, I wouldn’t buy anything just yet.
The big daddy trade show in photography is on soon (September I think?) and there is always great new stuff for it.
Both Canon and Nikon will have new bodies & lenses and there will be a raft of new PHD cameras as well.

You need to have the filter rotated properly to get the full effect – it’s fairly easy to see when you have it right..
The sky get’s darker and you can see the reflections come off..

Morsie and I sent emails to Lowe and Thinktank telling them what we needed and how we thought the right product would sell well.
How many photographers are there now running around shooting outdoor stuff ?Lots !
We suggested a bag like the Simms Dry creek with it’s simple roll top, but set out for camera gear.
It also needs a proper waist belt with the option of external add ons.Here’s a link for Thinktank – IMO they make the best sized bags & pouches for modern sized AF lenses and DSLR’s.
They also have a good looking belt system like you mentioned.
