Cameron MortensonMemberEvery summer we take a week, usually over the 4th of July, and head back to my home state of Michigan to see my family and to play at the family lake house.

Cameron MortensonMemberIt is actually a better fly rod than it is a spinning rod which is just fine with me.

David AndersonMemberCameron, I don’t know if I’ve posted this before but –
As a kid I went on my dads field trips to the UP and did a lot of my first fly fishing there.
He was a Geology prof from the U of I and went most summers with a dozen or so students.
While they scratched and hammered at the earth I fished. Was magic.

MemberGreat post Cameron. Love the matched sticks too. Look sweet with the Martin reels. And the little Zebco is sweet. Looks like you may a fishing partner for a good while. Good for you both. 🙂
Darrin
PS – I’ve still not been able to build that glass rod yet, but the Honey colored Lamiglas is the likely blank. Just finished a pair of 2 wt rods, got two more of those to build then it’s time to build one for me again. Hope to have them all done by Labor Day. Thanks again for the heads up on those blanks.

Cameron MortensonMemberDarrin…I don’t know what you are looking for in your Lamiglass build…but out of all the honey blanks that I’ve messed with…the gem of the bunch so far seems to be the 7 1/2 foot three piece four weight.
