Beat me to death if I buy it. Not on my wish list-ever.

I’m willing to bet there aren’t very many people on this forum that haven’t said that about at least 3 items they currently couldn’t imagine fishing/tying/traveling without right now.

    Whoopps, guilty as well…lol

That is a LOT of money for a cooler just the same – look forward to the test results Zach.

    in reply to: Drones #87801

I have mixed feelings on their use, but it’s clear that there here to stay and only getting better.
I’ve shot out of helicopters on a couple occasions and they’re awesome for getting an arial shot though
the $800 an hour fee makes it a big budget item.
These drones are bringing arial photography to the masses at a much cheaper rate and that has to be a good thing ?

Obviously at some point we will get D800 (D800E??) quality on a quiet stabilised platform and I’ll have to have one…lol

I think the flash ads a lot to the original shot Jay – nicely balanced.
That said, the ambient version rocks as well..

    Good price..

As a side note – you can get padded inserts for the Pelicans made for camera gear.
Not sure of the price, but from memory not outrageous.

    Zach,
They’re a powerhouse no question, and slightly more refined than the (awesome) TCR’s I replaced.
That said, I had a big tackle shuffle to free up some family proof money to get my Outcast Commander.
(pretty expensive by the time it’s landed here in Australia)

I also sold a lot of lighter rods in TCX, ZXL and TXL and got myself some One’s in 3 and 5 weight.
Then because I was on a roll, I sold a heap of reels and lines and got a set of Abel reels for freshwater stuff
    and some new Perception lines.

Hi My name is David and I’m a tackle addict.
It’s been 4 days since my last – lol

in reply to: Chromapop, 580, etc. sunglass tech #87738

    That’s interesting stuff.

I’ve noticed camera lenses have improved in sharpness in general and it’s down to lens coatings if you read the brochure.

I would also agree about plastic sunglass lenses being less sharp.
At a guess, if plastic could be made with the same clarity as glass, Nikon and Canon would be all over it by now.

Anyway, I’m just at the point of need prescription sunnies so will check these out.
    Thanks for the review.

in reply to: Chest Wader Recommendations? #87673

    Hi Mike,

I skated around Simms for years and years because of the price.
Now I have a pair of the G3’s and I couldn’t be happier.
The sizing was one of the main buying points as I was sick of the not quite right fit of the cheeper stuff.
Seems that most of the stuff out of China only comes in short, short & fat and short and really fat with small feet..lol

That said, I have noticed Reddington now have a few more sizes in their new range of waders.
I have one of their new Jackets and it’s pretty sweet for the money.

Zach, are you going to get into modelling ?

    My advice –
Lettuce for lunch – that someone else has paid for.
    barf.

Salad, chop and fine wine for dinner – that someone else has paid for.
    barf.

End up in bed with photographer.
    barf.

    LOL.

in reply to: Fiberglass Rod #87620

    Hi,
On a recent trip to NZ I was loaned a 5 weight and a 6’6 3 weight Butter Stick.
I didn’t get much time with the 5 because my fishing buddy would’t put it down for long, but I did manage a magic day on
a very small spring creek full of 3-4 pound browns with the little 3 weight.
It’s an awesome little rod that lays down little dries with great accuracy and it was surprisingly good with the big trout – for the money I think everyone should have one.

I also own a Scott F 703 and it’s a beautiful little stick as well.
I’ve had it a long time and used it on a lot of small streams here in Australia
It’s a cracker and, IMHO the pick of the original Scott F range – though the 2 weight is pretty sweet as well.

    Glass is class !
