They took the wraps off today. Here’s the rod I was fishing down in Mexico:

I’ll post a review here soon.

Nice review Zach. I glad to see you made it back from Mexico. I’ve never owned a Sage rod, but they do make some nice sticks. I originally wanted a Sage RPLXi, but came across a great deal on a Scott Heliply, so that is about as close as I came to a Sage. I wanted to build a 10′ 7wt TCR, but never got around to buying the blank before they were all gone.

As far as the Recoil guides. I’m not so sure the flexible feature is that great, particularly if they flex will casting. What I really like about them is that they are extremely corrosion resistant and less likely to break than regular titanium guides. I have started using them for the running guides on all my saltwater rods.

    Thanks for the review Zach.

I sold my TCX 9’s recently and am looking for replacements.

    David –

Strictly speaking the Method would be the follow up to the TCX line. Why did you sell them though? Too stiff/casting oriented?

    Zach,
They’re a powerhouse no question, and slightly more refined than the (awesome) TCR’s I replaced.
That said, I had a big tackle shuffle to free up some family proof money to get my Outcast Commander.
(pretty expensive by the time it’s landed here in Australia)

I also sold a lot of lighter rods in TCX, ZXL and TXL and got myself some One’s in 3 and 5 weight.
Then because I was on a roll, I sold a heap of reels and lines and got a set of Abel reels for freshwater stuff
    and some new Perception lines.

Hi My name is David and I’m a tackle addict.
It’s been 4 days since my last – lol
