    Hey guys –

I spent the last six days on a photoshoot for Sage at Grand Slam Lodge in Mexico on Ascension Bay. Since I was there as ‘fishing talent’ versus being a photographer, I don’t have that many photos, but I still got some cool stuff. Being on a commercial photo shoot is a different animal than being on a magazine trip in a lot of ways. Number one of which was minimal actual real fishing time. We still did some amazing stuff (the Motofish team had a drone! we went to a Mayan ruin in the middle of the jungle!) and I caught my first permit.

The Mayan ruin day was amazing. We basically bushwhacked the mangroves on the south side of Ascension Bay for three hours to get there. The place was called Tupac.

That ruin was a no-joke jungle foray.

    There were also crocs:

I love Ascension bay. I had a great trip there a few years ago and plan to go back this October.

Zach, are you going to get into modelling ?

    My advice –
Lettuce for lunch – that someone else has paid for.
    barf.

Salad, chop and fine wine for dinner – that someone else has paid for.
    barf.

End up in bed with photographer.
    barf.

    LOL.
