MemberThese are camp out affairs, using electric powered boats. The fishery is based on a 40 acre impoundment with lots of timber that the fish use to their advantage.
Whilst most fish were in the 50-65cm class, as you can see some were substantially larger than that. You just never know…

MemberI don;t have that model, but I do have the 8’6″ #5 and 9′ #6. I think you’ll find the sensitivity and power you are looking for in the #4. That’s what the S4’s are all about. Low sheen, to boot.

MemberI like to fish light. I miss products like the JW Outfitters Bonefish pack – enough room for a large C&F box, tippet, pliers and hook hone. Something built to withstand years of use, without being too big and bulky.

MemberI tie most of mine with bucktail, but when I use synthetics I use Ultra Hair – it hold up to teeth well. I’ve found softer synthetics tend to tangle.

MemberI’ve been using a Scott Warm Water Special #6 – nice rod for this kind of thing, but a different species of bream I think.

MemberDon’t look past the Scott S4 either – for me this is one of the great all-round freshwater fly rods on the market. I’m with Zach on the line weights – my personal collection stops at #3.

MemberDarrell, see if you can find a Scott E2 #6 on clearance – both the 9′ and 9’6″ are really nice rods in the #6. They were discontinued last year but you might still find some.

MemberOkay – looking at an electric – how many lbs thrust do people use? I can get 18, 44 or 54lb… My guess is 54lb will be overkill and 18lb not enough – any thoughts/experience?

MemberDA – I’m going to use it in Patterson Lakes, Victoria – google earth and take a look… As well as some of the coastal rivers for EPs and bream, lakes for Murray cod, trout etc – anywhere you’d use one of those float boats, really.
Line management doesn’t seem to be an issue for me – I’m used to using a stripping basket and will sort something out. Maybe a swing basket on a post or something, but I’ll make it work… ;D

MemberThanks for the replies, guys. The pontoons are dark green…
Will look into the oar caddies.
Is there such a thing as a light weight battery? Will have to check that one out. Can’t wait to get it on the water!
