You can install it on every Apple machine you own as long as it’s compatible.

Ahh, thanks for that! I just picked up a macbook pro from the refurb store so it should be compatible and I don’t have alot installed on it yet other then lightroom.

I read mixed reviews but alot of the negs seemed like people installing it on borderline compatible machines or people who didn’t read that it wasn’t going to work with some of the older software. It looks pretty nice, can’t wait to try it out.

The 24-105 is an awesome walk around lens and not to shabby for portrait work either. A 70-200 is another very useful focal length and the non IS F4 in the L series is a great value.

Stick Marsh and Farm Pond 13 if it isn’t too hot then. Everybody needs to fish that place at least once before they croak.

I have one but my limited experience with iMovie so far is that it sux so bad it isn’t worth fooling with. Until I find an easier solution to edit movies I’m just collecting snippets of video.

    Show off, ;D

Well, that one was a nice one. Biggest of the year so far. Maxed out the 30 pound bogas.

You up for a trip to LA this fall? Should be off the charts.

    AWESOME!

No question, I’d let the boy try to catch it. Every trip back would be another shot at “ole Mossback”. The anxiety will be more then he can stand the night before every trip back to the pond. He won’t sleep much for thinking about how he’s gonna catch that beast of a fish this time. Those memories will follow him and you for the rest of your lives.

If I could go back and start over all again on the same budget I had to start with, I’d buy a pro Nikon or Canon body used from a reputable member of Fred Miranda or POTN. That budget today would buy a 5d Classic, or a 1D mk2 in the Canon line easily.

I spent alot of money that I could have avoided trying to get to where I am now with gear that I’m happy with.

I’ve got two SLT 5wts and it’ll be a loooong time before I trade them up for anything else. I’m totally satisfied with that 5wt.

That’s good news Morsie. I’ll have one of the new 7’11 12 wt’s when they become available. It’ll be perfect for these guys. This one was caught on a CPX 9wt and it was all that rod wanted.

Man, that camera on the console in the last shot looks like it was just about to slide off. Nice report Andrew.

That’s exactly what I thought. I’ve learned to sniff out a spammer from a mile away. They’ve been very persistent lately too. Had to finally put questions on my boards registration process. We went from 40 spammer registration attempts a day to 0.

Bob that blank was the original sig V series and parts for it are nowhere to be found. Guess I should see if anyone is looking for the last two sections out there somewhere.

in reply to: Rod Storage #48939

I stapled a rope across two of my joists in the garage making loops as I went. Small loops where the tips go and big loops where the reel handles go. Works like a charm and rods stay up high and out of danger. That is until the tornado but even then I only lost one rod. And it just happened to be my Dan Craft Sig V 8’4″ that was IMO one of the finest light trout blanks ever made, and also irreplaceable…

in reply to: Sebastian Inlet Florida #49035

If you can’t get a boat or a guide leave the fly rod at home and hit the inlet with some gear.

in reply to: Sebastian Inlet Florida #49032

Hit the docks at night with poppers for Jacks and snook. Bring a spare rod and line… Keep an eye out for big Tarpon.  On the flats I’ve had sucess with big poppers and a shrimp dropper.

There is also several small finger like coves that hold good numbers of Juvie Tarpon. If you happen to find the right one it’s party time! I heard the rocks that line the inlet are full of snook but it was always to rough there to fish from our boat. The lighted docks are full of snook but they are smart.

I’d hire an offshore guide for a day of trolling or at least Kingfishing. Not fly fishing but man it’s great fun! That part of FL is pure awesome.

Vanish makes some small packs in 50#. I use Vanish or Seaguar bulk spools for everything from 2#-50#. I just don’t like most “tippet” material.
