Simon ChuMemberHi Tim
Sorry mate I’ve been fishing and hardly online at all.
Yep this is about as big a mouse year as we’ve had for a while.
I also think that 2 years (since TB NZ came out) must have been about right for all the troutbums to have saved up for the NZ 10 weeker! ::) ๐
Lots of young guys here catching loads of nice fish.
We’re currently getting a heap of rain but as soon as it settles, life will be good again. So far some really decent fish have been caught and more are yet to come.
Tim, where are you?
How much time can you get off?Morsie, today a friend got a fish that was 24inches long and over 8lbs…..
Simon ChuMemberZach
Have you compared the rod prices of the day with the average wage of the period also?
I would guess rods in general have decreased in price to the average wage?
Simon ChuMember;D ;D ;D
Thank you!
Simon ChuMemberHi Butch
That fish hangs right behind my vice and I dream of getting back. I was planning on next year but with this other trip happening it might be 2011. Hope you leave a few for me!
Simon ChuMemberThanks Zach
I’m apparently going to an Island where there will be shots at everything from Bones to Tarpon.
Apparently I should be taking everything from an 8-10. Crabs, gotchas and toads?
I’m pretty psyched and its still 8months away!! ๐I like the shot of the bone swimming away. Was there a filter on that shot Zach?
Simon ChuMemberNice rod!
I love my F 7ft 3wt Scott but now I want it pimped!
Simon ChuMemberLooks bigger than you think as I’m in front of it eh ๐
Thanks Zach and others
Its probably the flies I have most interest in and the fact that that you are all recommending 8s as the heaviest rod I might need.
The leader length and breaking strain recommendations also give me an indication as to what to expect.
If I can cast to a few schools that would be a bonus!
Simon ChuMemberAwesome Henry!
I was recently looking at your pics from the Bahamas too.
I’m hoping to follow in your footsteps (on that particular island in the Bahamas) and if I just get one picture as good as you’ve shot, I’ll be stoked!
Thanks for sharing!
Simon ChuMemberwow! ๐ฎ
Simon ChuMemberAwesome!
Thanks for sharing.
Simon ChuMemberKeen to hear your thoughts on the Sage bags Zach.
Keep up the great work!Hope you didn’t have to take Lauren back to that dodgy old motel again! ๐ ::)
Can’t believe 2 years have flown by so quick.
Simon ChuMemberAwesome shots Matt!
Thank you.
What camera please and how did you get the clarity?
Any tips?
Simon ChuMemberMorsie
I’ll tie you some.
Might take a while
Simon ChuMemberThe slim beauty is a cool knot and easy to tie.
Lefty’s loop is a good one from leader to fly ๐
Simon ChuMemberThanks again for sharing Tim!
I’m having to live the dream vicariously through your posts, so keep ’em coming so they say.
Awesome
I love those wee fish!! Prettier than anything!
Simon ChuMemberWell I suppose someone has to say Abel!! ย ๐
I love the idea that my reels are customised and hand painted.
Bullet proof. You can’t go wrong with either though.
Just to throw a spanner in the works. Have you considered sealed drags versus cork? Another couple of cork drag reels getting good wraps are Shiltons and the Templeforks?
Take your pick from some exceptional sealed drag reels – Hatch and Mako being only a couple of options

Simon ChuMemberAndrew, my wife is getting me banned from the “Spotlight”. String licking pervert is not helping!!!!
Simon ChuMemberIn all seriousness DA,
Simon ChuMemberBummer
Looks like your truck was in the scrum against the all blacks
Simon ChuMemberHi Stu

Looks like a few more Kiwis are getting here!
Makes a change from all the Aussie accents eh ๐Great pics
