Memberditto, Montana is the mecca of vanity tags, you see more than you dont
I think you are correct..I know I felt the same way the first time I came to Montana.

MemberGood times for sure. Seems like that week went by in just the blink of an eye.
Mike, thanks for the kind words. I had a great time hanging out with you guys. Where is that picture of your pretty Bow? That one had some nice color. Also, thanks for the tips on selective hearing as it should be applied within the bounds of matrimony. I have been doing it all wrong. I’m not surprised though, seems like I always take the hard way. Oh, and long live the dry fly.
Cameron-Great to finally meet and spend some on the river time with the face of http://www.thefiberglassmanifesto.blogspot.com/ and one of those responsible for breathing life into http://www.fishykid.org/ I know a lot of people really appreciate what you guys are doing over there.
Cory-I don’t know if that place even has a back door. I guess it would just about have to so that the assorted trout bums and loitering guides can flea the bill collectors that use the front door.
Dave-How are you dealing with the withdrawals of your hopper addiction? Hang in there buddy. I know how you feel. The shakes, depression, thoughts of suicide can be tough at first, but then, after a few weeks, it becomes downright unbearable.
Did anybody get a shot of Joel and his “Shrimp in Wine Sauce” that was served up with so much flair under the watchful eyes of the Two Headed Calf of Wolf Creek? Some meals are destined to never be forgotten, or ordered again!

MemberYeah, very cool Corey. See you guys soon.
ron snow
MemberShane, I believe you will really enjoy it.
Cameron, place the order. It is very handy.

MemberHey Cameron,
We’re glad the hook up worked out too, thanks for sharing. It’s all about the network.
Here’s a shot of my lanyard. Well, part of it anyway.
ron snow
MemberWhat is this “Rocker” of which you speak?
Oh, wait, it’s all coming back to me now.
Water is up. The spot might be good. We’ve been waiting for it to turn on.
Down river, lots of chocolate.

MemberShane,
Cameron told Joel about Joe. We checked out the website and then called to make an appointment to go by and meet with him.
He has made a half dozen lanyards for us, and some custom shotgun shell bags for carrying on the trap and sporting clays range.

Usually carried around the waist, but when I’m teaching, I’ll sling it over my shoulder.

On my personal lanyard, I asked him to covert the fly patch/wallet to a pocket to hold my Pentax W-60 point and shoot camera. Came out really nice and works perfectly. I also asked him to lengthen the lanyard so I can carry it side slung, over right shoulder and under my left arm, in stead of out front. I’ve only carried it a couple of times but I think I’m really going to like it hung this way.

MemberNice report, and welcome back to the real world. It is going to be a great summer.

MemberJohn,
Sounds like a great trip.
My experience has been booking your flight directly on the airline’s website is the least expensive.
It is a lot more leg work, or in this case web work, but it has saved me hundreds.
I just booked a couple of flights after researching which airlines serve my destination airports.
First, I will usually try something like KAYAK and they will give me ideas on which airlines to check. I note the prices they come up with, go to those airlines and find acceptable flights they offer.
For the flights I just booked today, directly with Delta after checking two other airlines, I saved a little over $100.00 each way off of the best deal offered by the KAYAK search. A hundred bucks each way more than paid for my research time.
One other thing-I sign up for all the airline email alerts that serve the airports I fly into and out of most often. Delta, Frontier, Southwest all offer the deal alerts and I use them. I would think other airlines have a similar program. It has been very valuable.
Enjoy your trip,
Ron
EDIT: Did you look at the possibility of flying out of Nashville or Atlanta? Day of week can vary greatly as well, as someone suggested.

MemberI just got a quote for a friend of mine.

MemberRalph,
I also saw your post on Kiene’s forum when I googled up used ro deville.
I’m interested but I’ve recently opened a dialogue with the manufacturer in Bozeman, MT.

MemberI was sent a kit to try as well. Told them I was interested in their dry fly stuff, but they don’t have any yet.
A couple of other people on this board were supposed to get a “check it out pack” as well, but I don’t think they ever have because I haven’t heard from them.
This kit contains only nymphs and I haven’t thrown a nymph since the package arrived.

MemberDD-It’s not hopper season here yet by any means, however:
Photo number -1 Tie that top foam color with the bottom color of photo number 5. I think that would nail the green creek side hoppers.
Number 7 is great just as it is.
Photo number 9, right caught a fish here three days ago.
Not having much luck with the shiny green abdomen colored or the yellow.
Thanks for allowing me to be your field tester!!
