I am wanting to plan a streamer trip in the Fall of next year and I am looking for suggestions on where to go and also recommendations on a guide to fish with. I want to target brown trout on large streamers.

Last October I floated the Madison a few days with Kelly Galloups shop and had perfect conditions and pretty good fishing.

Any advice on somewhere to go with great streamer fishing for big browns in the fall? Yellowstone? South fork? Missouri?

Little Red river in Arkansas is also very good in November. There is some HUGE browns in that system. All wild fish. Wish I’d be around for it.

The Yellowstone is unbelievable in the Fall.

The Yellowstone is unbelievable in the Fall.  The Big Hole is awesome in the fall.  The Madison is great in the fall.  HMMMM…  Southwest Montana sounds like a good place.

Talk to Joel Thompson… He guides around Missoula and knows his stuff.  I’ve heard good things about the Bighorn too.

Dont forget about the Jefferson 😉

There’s something to say for SW Montana – the fish are here!

I love Montana. I spend half, or more, of my year here.

Try the Missouri around Wolfe Creek/ Craig area. I’ve fished with these folks and are some of the hardest working guides I’ve ever met.

Thanks for the info, I am leaning toward Jefferson/Bighole/Madison vs The MO’. I have also sent Mike Anderson an email about a trip this fall.
