DD-It’s not hopper season here yet by any means, however:

Photo number -1 Tie that top foam color with the bottom color of photo number 5. I think that would nail the green creek side hoppers.

Number 7 is great just as it is.

Photo number 9, right caught a fish here three days ago.

Not having much luck with the shiny green abdomen colored or the yellow.

Thanks for allowing me to be your field tester!!

Fish tricking was good, but not great. Half dozen brownies in the creek on streamers.

Is the Popular Mechanics article much different than what already happens every time a new guy walks into a fly shop?  As soon as the guy behind the counter catches wind of a newb, they pounce like a fricken lion and start trying to sell Tibors and high end rods.  I have never seen a fly shop try to sell an SA starter kit.  Hell, most fly shops dont carry them.

I have no doubt that what you describe happens, but not the local fly shop I started at, Cumberland Transit in Nashville.

This board is how I met Joel as well.  I think this board is how Cameron met Joel too.  Hmm. A blind John could see this pattern.

Let’s face it, loveable guy, but he’s an IA whore.

    Bwahahahahahahaha!!!

Welcome home JT.  I’ll see you in a few days, in MT.

Travis, did you guys let Ron Snow get behind the sticks? I what to make sure he is not rusty when he comes back to me! 😉

    Joel

Ha!  The only sticks I touched were fire wood, shootin stick and a 6wt.

Mike was on “The Stick” of his Supreme while I scouted fundraiser locations and then found a place to wade.

The East TN music men were great and Travis hit a lick or two himself with some of his own material. We gotta find that recording of Drivin’ In Memphis and post it!
    Good times.

Yeah Mike, those are still great shots even in the reduced size.

    Nice shots and fish!

Could you explain what is in pic #5? You must be a trusting fellow to have eaten that not knowing exactly what it was 🙂

    Dusty

    CHORIZO and it was great!!

He also cooked up some smoked shoulder and brisket for supper that night.
