I have a few of these rods on order I’ll let you know what the guys say about them. They put Mel Kreiger (?) on the design team for what ever that might be worth. I think they are trying to keep up with TFO and others who offer complete packages.

Did I put the details page and the home waters page in the package or is this one I just found a copy.Sounds like a typical winter steelhead trip, nice fish.
It’s hard to beat the ice when it’s 20F but I have had good success with Stanley’s ice off paste. Also some sticks like Beulah and Teeny have a larger tip top than some others.

Lots of materials at the local craft/fabric store have found there way to my table great place for tying and indicator foam. How does it hold up, do you have some photos.

You aren’t the only one, my wife tells me this morning that the package I sent her to the PO with fell off the seat and she forgot about it so it will not go out till tomorrow. Not a good showing for my first swap.

I started using a candle, having 2 hands to rotate the line helps.
Makes sense about the strength and direction of pull but some real world testing is still in order
I tried this technique and it works great, there is a learning curve it took me about a foot of fly line to finally get a good one. I couldn’t find clear shrink tubing so I used some 1/8 inch black tubing that I had on hand. Go slow and keep the flame away from the fly line loop and it works well. I’m also a bit skeptical of the holding power and I will try against a steelhead over the weekend and let you know what happens.
