Mark SchaferMemberI agree that casting a high priced rod before you buy it is a must. I also like the way a longer rod mends. I know one person who bought the Sage Z in a 7 put a 8wt line on it and says it’s the best Steelhead rod he has ever fished. My only real world problem with longer (more than say 9 feet) rods is that I find it harder to

Mark SchaferMemberi just checked the Fishermans web site and found they make prescription, polarized glasses for about $150 depending on the frame and I guess the prescription strength. That sure beats the $300+ I’ve paid in the past. Does anyone hae experience with them?
Thanks,
SteveI haven’t had any experience with the prescription glasses as of yet but we do sell a lot of the other styles. The only problems I’ve seen so far with them are if your active wearer meaning you take them on and off a lot some of the lower price frames don’t hold up real well.

Mark SchaferMemberThe Nik http://www.risingfish.net/Nikita.html by rising fish isn’t a true wading jacket more of a wading rain coat but the interesting thing is it has a wet suit gasket at the wrist that is trimmed to fit you wrist size and is waterproof even when putting your hand underwater it doesn’t breath well but it is waterproof……

Mark SchaferMemberIf this is going to become an official contest my shop will put a TFO rod in the prize mix. Perhaps this is something that should be moved to a separate post?
Mark SchaferMemberI had a Ridge line 7wt for a demo in the spring it seemed to lawn cast nice however, on the water mending and roll casting didn’t go well. I did use it this summer for throwing a big deer hair mouse and it shot line and fished fine. I wouldn’t use it colder conditions and I put a loop on it rather than a nail knot.

I don’t have the same blessings as you but the cut is very ample and the waist sizes are true.
