Mark SchaferMemberI wear a pair of Mountain Khakis nearly everyday. As Seafood said they may seem marketed to high end clientele but I can wear them to the shop in morning, hunt birds in the afternoon and still meet my wife for dinner. Great product.
Mark SchaferMemberI’ve never had any complaints about the 3m lines but I will be trying out some Jim Teeny lines on my nest trip for reds

Mark SchaferMemberThis is a great idea… I don’t have any recipes
Mark SchaferMemberHow about a TFO
Mark SchaferMemberI’ve spent a lot of time fishing for salmon and steelhead in Ohio and Michigan. We use the phrase “Orvis Hatch” to describe the group of folks that only show up on the water
Mark SchaferMemberDoes it have to be a real place. I can stage a picture if need be.

Mark SchaferMemberHad a rep in our shop last week that dropped off some new indicators. The one(thingamabobber) is very similar to Zacks balloon except in 2 sizes, more sturdy and reusable. The other one is a larger version of the Rastaman foam style and comes in custom sizes depending on the use. I plan to use both on some Erie Steelhead this week I’ll post some pictures and review when I get back.
Mark SchaferMemberOn the last page of my outdoor log book I have all my lines listed and on the reel end of each line I use permanent marker to put marks on the line sort of a roman numeral system of long and short marks.
The system works ok but has some obvious draw backs hopefully someone has a better idea.

Mark SchaferMemberMy name is Mark Schafer. The “Clip” part comes from my day job owning a barbershop that I bought from my Dad about 25 years ago. I’ve been married for 20 years with 3 kids ages 11,9 and 3. I’ve fished and hunted all my life but I didn’t try fly fishing until about 5 seasons back. My first fish on a fly was a 12 pound steelhead caught on the Vermillion river here in Ohio, to say I was hooked would be an under statement since then I have opened a small fly shop in Sylvania Ohio called Steelhead Shop the name pretty much says it all there.
My thoughts on the travel fly fishing issue. I take a fly rod with me wherever I go ,but I would rather fish 75 days close to home than 10 days a 1000 miles away.
My kids are at the age now that I don’t get out very often without at least one of them so I get a lot more hall passes from the wife when I involve them, I’m a new member here and I don’t make many posts on sites like this as to not expose my dyslexic 9th grade writing style. I have found the other bio’s interesting and I want to thank Pete Morse for being the only guy I could find older than me. Clip
