MemberI think we should have an IA fly swap, here are the rules if you don’t already know:
Tie one fly per person in the swap and send them to the swap meister with a couple bucks for shipping, the swap meister then sends each person in the swap one of each other fly.

MemberPatrick, this is a great idea.
Are you the Master of ceremonies?
I think we should get a solid number of people interested before tying. Other option would be to tie up a dozen flies to start and assume that at least a dozen people would be interested for the first session. Then if more people were interested we could do it more often, maybe one swap for each season?
I will tie the Jack Cabe Hopper (Trude style). My favorite go-to stimulator pattern. This pattern was tied for Main Stream Outfitters in Highlands, NC until it closed in 2001 and it is now available commercially but really only found out of the Highlands NC area. Although this is a classic Southern pattern, there are a few guys I know who fish this one fly all over the world.
I plan on making an IA box for my fly collection. Would be nice to have the name and the home water of each tier to put with the flies.

MemberHey guys…
Id like to join if you would let me…
Here is a little background…
My home waters is Lake Taneycomo (Branson Mo.) and I fish at night.
So the pattern will be a night time streamer pattern. (Probably a beaded pine squirrel)

MemberGuys,
Having being involved in a few swaps elsewhere, a box that you get with a purchase earings is a better shipping package than a flybox. A flybox is a lot of $$$$ to ship. I have shipped 15 weighted wolly buggers for less than $2 this way. I usually buy enough, and a little extra, postage for the return package and put it in the box with the flies with my return address. The toe tags are a great idea, really helps with “ID”ing the flies.
JH
PS… I think we should tie 10 flies and send a set to Zach for creating/hosting this AWESOME site!!!!
